Re: mike

Are you saying that this thread would not have received such a response if it were simply titled, "hand against stoxtrader"? Seriously. The "stoxtrader" caught my attention more than the 100-200 in...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

I also really agree with what you said and very often think in these exact terms.

But short handed, the properties of what goes into the proper amount of action tend to become warped and...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

anyway, and im going to assume you had a Q or 9s full or something beating AA since james is being so insistent, why didnt you play the flop or turn differently to try and get more...

Re: mike

now watch ill be wrong and the guy has quads.

I think this will very likely turn out to be his hand. Although if it is, I'm not sure I like the way he played it given...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

What you'll always get from me is honesty. Unlike some posters (and you know who you are and I'm starting to know who you are as well), I am humble enough to acknowledge when I'm having a problem...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

Finally, the game was 6 handed, so it's not like this was 4 handed or something.

Ahh, this does change things. In live 1-2 games we often start out 3 or 4 way and stay...

Screw it. This says what I was trying to say better than I could've thunk it. And all that shania stuff. I like it.

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

If he check-raises the turn and I three bet, he is definitely not calling down with worse than a queen.

Then you should often 3-bet the turn just for the fun of it! ...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

Well then how can you make a blanket statement that 3-betting the turn is much worse than 3 betting the river? Or does all that thinking cease when your range of hands includes AA?

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

If you are this worried that he has to have a queen or 99 in order to check/raise the turn, otherwise he'll fold, then you should be able to clean him out in a short-handed game.

I see what...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

( and yes, I would argue it sucks worse than 3-betting the river too).

Would you...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

Short handed is all about psychological warfare.

So your plan is, 4 bets go in on the turn?

No, my plan is something goes in on the turn. If his plan is 2 bets...

Re: 100-200 against stoxtrader

Short handed your play is to bet the turn and if check/raised by a good player, 3 bet. If he 4 bets, you're probably looking at 99 or a Q, but you have to call. <edit> You are calling mainly to stop...
