Re: Comment for Mike Souchak about Golf

You guys are idiots if you think anyone on the tour gambles to make ends meet.

Poker players do. They put up the cash and as long as the keep putting it up, its ethical for them to chop, make...

Nice trip for Andy Beal

Heard he won 11 million, told everyone how much he enjoyed his stay then promptly left town.

When the PGA players start self funding their events, you can start discussing poker and golf in the same sentence.

Help picking a fund for income and growth

I have it narrowed down to Oakmark Equity & Income (OAKBX), Vanguard Star (VGSTX) or Dodge and Cox Balanced (DODBX).

Oakmark is already +5% this year not to mention their expenses are high. Dodge...

Re: Confessions of a Winholdem User

I have repeatedly stated that Winholdem doesn't have the proper information available to the end user to allow it to win.

The guy that wrote the program is a smart guy, but is clueless about basic...

Re: There\'s going to be a new site in town soon....

Re: A Pokerbot has finally arrived.

About those hand histories you posted: The bot can be tweaked to raise preflop with AA but there is no way to make it bet if you have an overpair after the flop.

The Ace-Jack hand was funny, but...

Re: A Pokerbot has finally arrived.

PFCMcDermot,

Until the software AI can determine if it has top pair, or if it has an overpair it is worthless IMO.

Other enchancements are sorely needed like distinguishing how far off the...

Re: A Pokerbot has finally arrived.

For hand values you need things like overpair and toppair.

Right now, you have to use (betround==2 && islist4) in order to make the bot bet on the flop with a big pair (islist4 has AA, KK and QQ)....

Re: A Pokerbot has finally arrived.

Before the flop, does nopponentsplaying evaluate to the number of people that have called the blinds or does it also include people the haven't acted?

If it includes all people still with cards...

Re: A Pokerbot has finally arrived.

Winholdem is there a place to discuss this without being mired down in the philosophical debate?

Here are my questions:

What are the values for betposition? And how does it change relative to...

Re: The question

Partypoker now checks for this program and logs you off if detected. This is especially depressing if you enjoyed watching it call 2 bets on the river in 5 handed pots with jack high.

Also, why are you debating the morality of your product here. No one's mind is going to be changed so why bother.

Party works like a charm but your program refuses to read pokerstars no matter what resolution I try.

There should be preset game types (loose, loose agressive, tight, tight agressive), etc and...

Re: A Bot\'s Life: 2

How does this help you discern who still has cards, where the button is in relation to your position? What about players sitting out or if a seat is reserved? The screen scraping would also have to...

Re: A Bot\'s Life: 2

I have serious doubts about the "screen scraping" claims made here.

Using Visual C++, Delphi and C++ Builder for a few years, I can attest there are no "screen scraping" components in any of these...
