Re: Sexy?

It's a gamble and I'm not sure how often it has to work -- but it probably works often enough here. I say drop the sexy on him...

Re: Play along TPTK against 3bettor and unknown/fish

I'd three-bet this. I considered just calling, but that actually gives AK/AQ/AJ proper odds to chase their 3-outer. So raise it up!

Re: Semibluffing the turn

I used to routinely semi-bluff when I picked up a draw too -- but eventually I learned that a key part of the semi-bluff is the "bluff" part. It doesn't really have any value if there's no chance...

Re: c-bet bluff defense?

I'm not sure what happened to the other guy in your situation, but it looks like you're getting at least 9:1 at decision time. I find that a flop c/r in this situation usually means just a pair...

Re: river raise?

[ QUOTE ]
Do you expect a 22pfr to 3-bet an UTG raise with A8s here? Do you expect AK to cap the turn? These both seem close to me, but I'm not sure they do.

river raise?

[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely. I'd probably cap too. If he happens to have AA, them's the breaks. I think AQ/AK/88 and probably even A8 are all consistent with his play.

Re: Bet this turn?

I've gone back and forth on this one but I think you should probably bet against straightforward players. The flop has enough low cards that they could be peeling with overcards that they'll fold to...

Re: Does betting the turn suck here?

I don't think a bet is terrible (he could be pumping a draw or overplaying top pair) but I'd probably just check. Against an unknown, I'm inclined to believe he's got 98s or a set. If he's a...

Re: Give credit for JJ on the river?

I think he plays AT or maybe AA/KK/QQ the same way. I'd probably go ahead and 3-bet -- there's exactly one combination of JJ that beats your second nuts here.

Also, I'd be more inclined to...

Re: 10 High Flush On The River Facing A Bet

Not betting that flop is a pretty big mistake. Why are you worried about the number of people in the pot? You have a made hand -- you should be betting if there was 1 other person or 9.

I'd...

Re: Q9s with river scare card

I'd be more scared of a lower heart than the board pairing. This is a pretty easy bet.

Re: Checking the flop with a monster on a scary board

There's a whole lot of variables involved in milking that extra 0.5 bet and it's possible you'll get far less. I'll agree that against the right mix of players it could be better to slow-play this...

Re: Checking the flop with a monster on a scary board

You really can't drive a flush draw out -- the odds are just too good for them (or you, when you have the flush draw).

Here...

Re: Checking the flop with a monster on a scary board

I think not betting the flop is pretty bad, but there's a certain logic to it. Still, you're putting yourself in a situation where you could be putting money in only when your behind and none when...

Re: those damn turn raises

I'd let it go. And don't cutoff the action but then include the results.

Re: How far should I go with this?

I don't get the preflop raise.

And I'd probably put in one more raise on the river. It's not hard to imagine BB having a set or two pair that he's overexcited about here.

Re: KK fold on river vs Amazing Racist, 5/10

the river card is "scary" but it doesn't affect his hand range enough to warrant folding given your turn call. in other words, your turn call says he can have worse than a pair of kings...

Re: KK fold on river vs Amazing Racist, 5/10

I was a little perplexed by the turn call+river fold, but I guess it makes sense against this character, since he'd always play this way with T9/96/T6.

So, looks good -- the only reason to call...

I usually bet/call the flop, but against 4 opponents I don't hate a check/call.

I'd call on the turn too. It's very likely that your A's and K's are outs too.
