Re: I want everyone to berate me for this play

I'm going to side with most everyone here. I think QQ, 10-10 must raise preflop, so you can't really put anyone on those. This all in bet just reeks of 8-9. With no one raising preflop and no one...

Blackjack

2 questions actually:

a) If dealer must stand on 17, what is the typical house advantage?

b) What are the odds of the dealer pulling 8 blackjacks in a row with a 6 deck shoe? (saw it!!)

Re: Magoo was the original

Magoo.

I love it.

That will now be in my rotation of colorful language to spout when getting sucked out on.

Re: Really random...anyone ever played at Isle of Capri in Lake Charle

Harrah's is still closed. Isle is open though. I've noticed that Harrah's in general isn't in a big rush to open again after the hurricane.

Re: Donk

Yeah, TCU is a real school (ranked 14 in BCS if you're a football fan). Don't think there's ever been a movie here though.

Donk

This most likely isn't the place for this, but I've got 2 finals in the morning and I'll be up all night anyway, so this will have to do:

Why is "Donk" such an awesome word? I can think of no...

Really random...anyone ever played at Isle of Capri in Lake Charles?

A buddy and I are going on Friday. I didn't even know they had a cardroom until yesterday when I called them.

Anyone know anything at all about it?

I really wanted to post something witty and sarcastic about how ridiculous this whole situation is, but I'm completely dumbfounded.

Re: Caught bluffing

Fold flop, wait for a better spot.

[/ QUOTE ]

Even if you call this bet preflop, which isn't the best idea, this is not a good flop to be stonecold bluffing at.

Re: I can\'t fold

I think you'd have to consider how often you've been raising preflop at the table. If you've been quite the aggressor, I could see someone making this move with an under pair like JJ or QQ (maybe he...

Re: How do you play Top Two against this?

How is the advice so awful?

Most of the deck could be considered a scare card.

I'm advocating his move to take down the pot right here.

Re: 10/20 AA fold Full Ring

I'd have opened for around $120 and then re-raised to near $1000 pf.

Push on the flop.

Take your lumps and reload if he's got KK, the only feasible hand he's calling half his stack with PF.

Re: How do you play Top Two against this?

I think you have to re-raise this flop.

I think you lucked out with a 4 hitting. There are a ton of scare cards (5, 6, 7, 10 or even J) that are going almost make you fold this hand.

Other...
