Re: 3 final tables in 3 days......

I know this will be hard to believe, but I had 9 final tables w/2 wins in 12 tournaments within 7 days, between 200-700 players on Pacific and Paradise. Mostly $15 & $30 buy-ins. I made about 7K...

Re: Mid position limp, raise, call, what to do with AJo on button

I call here. You are getting good odds in good position.

If 5th position was the LAG and you had a tight image you could try a squeeze play here with a push but that is not the case here.

Re: Calling the flop with air

The CR will be higher risk/reward but leading out on the flop will give you enough chips to take the table lead. No need to risk a significant portion of your stack here just for a bigger gap lead...

Re: What\'s the optimal way for a MTT/STT player to build a bankroll?

Variance is just too huge for bankroll building in MTTs. Consider a 1000 player tournament, you're 100x less likely to get a first and about 6-15x less likely to double up your buy-in, depending on...

Re: stop n gos....ineffective?

Sorry, I just realized that this example doesn't fit well into the STT format. I'm used to posting in the MTT forum but I think the point is still valid.

Not really adding much here except to back up your claim and that I have noticed this much more often as well. They're onto us.

Looking for How to win $10 sit-n-go on Party Poker thread

I'm trying to teach a friend some basic strategy on sitngos.

Does anyone have the link to the How to win the $10 sit-n-go on Party Poker thread?

Re: PS 10+1 late

The problem with pushing here is that your risk reward is way too high. The stacks still have plenty of room here for a standard raise which will accomplish the same thing. 10XBB or 7X(blinds+antes)...

Re: $11 rebuy hand

A limp here with just 1 limper isn't getting the right price. Plus I would rather limpers included an EP limper to discourage a steal from the blinds and have a better chance of getting paid off if...

Re: Holdem/foldem challenge

I don't see anything but a pocket pair or bluff for villian which you are more often than not ahead of, I discount 99-QQ, but 55 is looking dangerous.
In anycase Hold-em.

Re: I\'m in the money, so time to play stupid.

You should have more than one goal in mind for MTTs. There are usually several points in the tournament where there are larger gaps in the payout. Look for these and set your goals more like stepping...

Re: Play the odds or play with your gut instinct?

A long time ago there was a study on pro freethrows and how they followed random patterns exactly. I don't remember the details but the point is that since randomness seems to follow patterns of...

I actually gave him a 50% chance to check the option and about a 50% chance to get him to lay down on a missed flop. I saw that he had some basic skills but he had some holes in some of his plays...
