Re: How important is math in poker?

Math is very important. Many players seem to think math is simply arithmetic and calculations. While most of these calculations are unnecessary since the decisions are often not close, you...

Re: Where do numbers come from?

Perhaps the best treatise on the subject is Frege's Grundlagen, which is a truly impressive work that addresses many different philosophies of mathematics. His basic approach, and one that is still...

Re: First of Many

I think you played this hand alright, there's not much to be afraid of out there, and betting when you caught another heart sets up a possible steal if you catch another one. Alternatively, you...

Re: I still don\'t get this at all. Please help me understand:

This is primarily a limit idea, since actual pot size is far more important (given smaller implied odds). There was a pretty good article in the internet magazine a few months ago about this topic....

I don't think I could fold it, especially since you note he's usually aggressive with pairs, but I'm not very good, It seems like he could be either weekly playing a semi dead flush draw, or a small...

Re: Badoogi?

I may be wrong, but I think it's a triple draw lowball game played with four cards instead of 5, and having four different suits is lower than A234. A dealer at the Horseshoe explained this game to...
