Re: what would you do?

I bet the river and he called. No game is *that* good.

Re: what would you do?

In this case 23x means I don't remember what the other flop card was. I think it was a 9 but I'm not sure.

Re: what would you do?

I should point out that I tabled my hand *before* he mucked.

For the record

I chopped the pot. My first inclination was to give up the whole pot, but it didn't seem right to give it all up to a player who didn't show his cards. Keeping it didn't fell right either since what...

what would you do?

15-30 at Canterbury recently. I have 45s in BB and see a free flop of 23x, one of my suit. 5 (or so) players in, it looks like a good blind flop so I bet out. One very fishy caller. I miss on the...

I found this amusing

I take my laptop into a Panera bread restaurant for lunch, which advertises free Wi-Fi. I get hooked up and fire up Party and start playing. I then open IE and go to my 2+2 bookmark, only to have the...

Re: no chance of AK?

hmm, you value bet the river because she *might* have a hand you can beat, but *probably* not? Show me where I said "plenty" likely.

The possibility she could have AK (or even less likely KQ)...

Re: Table talk / collusion -- let it slide?

I wouldn't let that slide. I would say "hey one player to a hand". If it continues call the floor.

no chance of AK?

She has position on you, why couldn't she 4 bet the flop with AsKx? I see no point in betting the river. None. Looks like a clear CC.

I never play higher than 30-60. Is there some reason for the...

Re: Show one, show all rule

Where I play, this rule is applied in both situations. If you show one player your hand any other player can request to see it. If you show one card anyone can ask to see the other one.

Frankly I...

Re: Stolen concept from earlier magazine.

Earlier this year when Kansas State played at Oklahoma, the KSU punter didn't realize the punting team had been called onto the field and stayed on the sideline. For some reason the long snapper...

Re: Girlfriend at the table?

There is no better argument to be made that poker is highly addictive than the sight of a player with his hot girlfriend sitting behind him bored out of her mind.

Re: help with blind structure at local B&M...

You are correct, with the 2-2-3 blind structure there are no two cards you can be dealt in the small blind or on the button that you should fold pre-flop in an unraised pot. The only exception would...

Re: Tough spot with KK

I think the argument for folding the flop can be made too. He said UTG+1 was laggish, if he wasn't folding becomes better, IMHO. That said I think it's a mistake, in general, to lay down big...

Re: Tough spot with KK

Cripes that's ugly. I would 3 bet, but if either player caps you might consider check-folding the turn. MP3 action is consistent with AA, QQ, TT. UTG+1 is consistent with AA.

Re: Is checking out \"unethical\"?

IMHO head's up it's fine, but in a multiway pot you should wait until it is checked around then muck. If I was worried about a "want to see that hand" request I'd try to muck with some force to make...

Re: Chopping etiquette

When the player to your right doesn't chop but the player on your left does, this is ideal. You play when you have position but don't play when you don't.

Now if you're asking if it's ok to tell...
