Re: Partypoker Beta closing early

Um...yea, that's the whole reason for a BETA. You use it at your own risk and you are supposed to report any bugs you encounter to PARTY so they can fix them.

Re: A2s in BB

[ QUOTE ]
I don't see a need to bet the turn. I would check and hope for an ace.

You aren't likely to get a second free card and you won't have the odds to call if someone bets so...

Re: Kings

Calls and with the intention of raising the turn. It's unlikey that a 3-bet is going to get anyone to fold at 2/4 that's already put there money in. The raiser is on your immediate right giving you...

Re: two bleh hands from my day.

Hand 1)
Raise preflop; buy the button, fold the blinds mabye the poster, equity edge, yada-yada. Post flop is reasonable.

Hand 2)
Yea, OK, there are two posters but you're still in MP1 and that...

Re: Does my play alter the stats of others in PT??

No and no.

If they are adapting their play to your style now, then they will no doubt do so again if you meet them in the future.

Re: Any reason for a nl tournament player to read TOP or HFAP?

TOP is not about limit hold'em it is about the theoretical underpinnings of all forms of poker and is widely regarded as the best poker book ever written.

Re: A non-pair hand - Part 2.

Good point, I missed that. So you intended to fold most rivers?

Re: A non-pair hand - part1.

I like this line against the opponent you describe. Since he's super aggressive, a turn checkraise could just be a play for the pot and he's likely to bet the river if you check the turn.

Re: A non-pair hand - Part 2.

I would check the turn and fold the river. You got called in two spots on the flop, it's unlikely that both players are drawing.

Re: Fairly Common Situation

I'm not raising it OTB, I'm limping it. I'm folding it in MP.

Re: 30/60 88 confused

I think that you can fold the flop. Even if you improve you can't play you hand with confidence so your implied odds are low.

Re: 10/20 AK preflop

I think that this is standard given the villians.

1) It is likely that some of your outs are are in another players hand.
2) A significant percentage of the time you are dominated.
3) A...

Re: Anyone play this differently....didnt feel right

I really don't like your flop raise at all. What are you trying to accomplish?

No way am I folding the turn. The Laggy UTG could have any king and CO probably has AdKx/KxQd.

Re: 20/40 99 value bet?

That's an easy value bet especially since both players are passive so you can fold to a checkraise. You will get called by a hand like A8s or 55 a lot here.

Re: fishy flop check

Check-calling is fine. The pot is teensy, it's very unlikely that a free card can beat you and there is some chance that you are behind anyway so giving a free card is not dangerous.

If you knew...

Re: Critique this AA hand for me

It's not that simple when we take into account that betting will often mean that you lose 2 bets when behind and gain 1 (or none) when ahead.

Re: Blah...

I would checkraise the flop here. Betting makes it correct for anyone with a gutshot or 2nd/3rd pair to call. I think that you can throw your hand away on the turn.

Re: Another hand

I bet the flop. The pot is small, your hand is fragile, no one has show any strength and you have no idea where or if a flop bet may come from.

Re: TPNK with some history, river...

On the flop, your hand is a combination of possibly best plus a backdoor flush and weak backdoor straight. I think that the flop decision is very close and good arguments can be made for folding,...
