Re: Do I have enough to call?

[ QUOTE ]
Can someone help a newbie out?
Why is this such a clear fold? Even if we assume none of the crosses are good we still have 4 clean Aces/tens and 3 clean 5s for the straight.

Sure CO...

Re: JTo flops top pair... yipee!

[ QUOTE ]
Here are my thoughts. Whether or not their good I'll let others decide.

I like the flop raise to protect our vulnerable TP.

On the turn is where I had these thoughts.
We gained...

JTo flops top pair... yipee!

MP2 (38/8.0/1.3).

UTG+2 (60/0/0.58), MP3 (60/0/0.4) are separated at birth loose passives.

These stats are over about 60 hands and representative of observed play.

I have been running real...

Re: Vulnerable Two-Pair on Flop and Turn

but if I call the flop, I'm giving the CO and Button too much of a chance to draw against me.

Yes, I know what you mean.

I was wondering if waiting for the turn in...

Possibly calling the flop and raising a non club turn may be better here -- hopefully someone better than me will be along shortly to advise...

Re: QQ, strange action

I think it would have been better if you had stopped the action when it got to you on the turn.

When determining what SB's donk bet might mean, it's hard not to be influenced by the fact that he...

Re: Limping/Spewing with 55

1. Stats do not support the statement that Button is an "auto raiser" no matter what the OP said.

Overall stats can't disprove the OP's read of an opponent's actions...

I'd call instead of 3 bet the flop then donk the turn if a safe-ish card fell. I do this to stop SB and Button getting a free look at the river if they have overcards.

Re: A3o

I'd fold.

Not much you beat. Even in the unlikely event that CO is running a bluff, you have to figure in the possibility than UTG+2 may now have you outkicked and will stick around.

c/r on the flop, if button 3-bets, call and c/f the turn UI.

[/ QUOTE ]

Too many outs to beat an overpair so we can't fold the turn.

Re: Limping/Spewing with 55

I think leading out here when you have a read on the PFR that he'll auto-raise with OCs is a good move to protect your hand. I'd be slightly perturbed when SB called 2 cold unless I had a read that...

Re: Marginal blind hand (1/2 on Stars)

I would play it the same.

Turn sucks but I think you've still got to bet to avoid giving a free card to draws.

On the river, a check may induce a bluff from a busted draw so I like check/call....

The answer I was looking for was: he's too loose.

The point was to show that if you need to win at 5% to justify a call, your true win rate when you call should be much higher. This is...

To turn a profit in this situation he could..

1. Make more good calls when his true odds are better than 19:1.

2. Make more good folds when his true odds are worse than 19:1.

Re: WTF - How do you beat these people??? (Marginal Content)

How I would have played these hands differently...

Hand 1: raise/fold PF depending on reads -- mostly fold
Hand 2: raise PF, bet river
Hand 3: bet turn, b/c river

Re: Interesting 22 hand

[ QUOTE ]

With a VPIP of 50, his range isn't very weighted to overcards here, and with such a low aggression factor he could very well have any piece of the board and not be betting it.
