Tricky turn decision, trickier river

[/ QUOTE ]

I think the turn decision is the trickier of the two actually.

River is an easy call.

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4, K.

Re: As pairs go it\'s not much - J3s

Things really work differently up here. I don't understand how you can expect Villain to have (edit: and bet) 75 or worse 20% of the time by the river here.

Re: Wherein hero questions his trigger happy ways

I think the preflop cap is close, but I don't mind it.

As for the turn, I'd probably just let it go. You're likely behind at this point; BB seems aggressive, but I would be surprised to see him...

KF if they'll fold more hands than they'll call, and they'll only bet if they're ahead.

Re: Taking a weird line with AKs

To everyone who bets the flop here:
What does the flop bet achieve? Noone is very likely to fold IMO, and it doesn't look to me like we have >25% equity here?

Re: river raise?

Right, we're ahead of 88x3 too. So we're ahead of that range exactly enough for a 0EV raise. If we can include a discounted AK or A8 then it'll push it into slight +EV.

Re: river raise?

Do you expect a 22pfr to 3-bet an UTG raise with A8s here? Do you expect AK to cap the turn? These both seem close to me, but I'm not sure they do.

Re: river raise?

Looks like you're ahead of AQx3 and 88x6, and behind AAx6 (I don't think many other hands get there, even from an aggressive opponent? I'm not sure if any of these need discounting?). So we're...

Re: Get to Showdown Get to Showdown Get to Showdown

Whoa.

I fold preflop to a TAG UTG pfr. I'm not really sure what you hope to achieve with the flop 3bet UI? You're going to need to follow through on the turn UI too, resulting in a big...

I agree with what hte other guys have said. Check-call vs lags, bet vs passives, or check-fold, depending on their calling range.

The real question is if this is a bet-fold or a...

Re: Against a thinking TAG.....

The only hand a thinking TAG should be c/ring the flop with here is a monster IMO.

He should be check-folding lone 7s/pockets (that were too weak to 3-bet pf) on the flop because hero's range is...

Check the turn and bet the river. Why bet the turn if you know he will not fold? There is enough value in a river bet given the read, but the turn bet sucks IMO.
