Re: How often do you cash in MTTs with 100 or more people.

[ QUOTE ]
While it's nice to have a high percentage of cashes in tournaments, this is not really the question you should be asking. With the way tournament payouts are structured, you are much...

Re: Yes, I limped UTG with 10 BBs

I see this play all the time. I don't hate it, however you're probably not getting away from this hand. So why not raise or push to force out a junk hand that could bust you in the blinds.

On the...

Re: 3 limpers, a miniraise, a caller and I have AKo on the button

[ QUOTE ]
I would probably raise to 120 (60 more to go). This would likely make the limpers fold because of them being sandwiched between you and the raiser and caller

Re: Top Pair Decent Kicker OTB - Mistake?

Obviously it is unlucky that your dominate position got turned on you post flop. However I would have not raised with that hand from the small blind against a big stack. There is really no need.

Re: Got carried away?

[ QUOTE ]
I like the push, especially if you show your hand when he folds. There's a good chance he'll call with an A here, but regardless it is good advertising to the others not to mess with you....

Re: Party 55 bubble play - I have garbage but ..

[ QUOTE ]

This kind of move would be extremely foolhardy from him without something vaguely decent, as the SB can easily call and remain in very good shape

Re: JJ on the bubble (PP $11)

I'm pushing all the time here. If you're up against a bigger pair so be it. If you're laying this caliber of a hand down you may not even make it to third.

The only way I'd ever fold this is if...

Re: OT: Party Points - a warning and a question about the swag.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I find this extremely funny.

Re: Was I dumb for even considering laying this down?

I would have a hard time getting away from this hand, but I think I would have just called the river bet. You said yourself you were thinking about folding. Obviuously you had some doubts in your...

You got all your money in and doubled up. Can't argue with success. I like all your plays.

Re: SNG level equivalent to 3-6 limit?

Just out of curiosity, it seems like a lot of people are inferring that the original poster wanted to play NL SNGs. Perhaps he wants to play limit SNGs.

Re: Aggressiveness Cycle in Party Steps

Thanks. I appreciate your input, as I know you have much more experience in the high stakes buy-ins than I do.

oh yeah, it's very safe to assume that a $500 buyin and a $1000 buyin sng, neither with the same structure as the $33s or the $55s would be the same.

Re: Aggressiveness Cycle in Party Steps

Would it be fair to saythat step 4-5 should be played as a midlevel ($30-$50) SNG?

Aggressiveness Cycle in Party Steps

In the past I rarely played any of the party poker "step" SNGs. My success with them was minimal; meaning every now and then I would play a step while I was multi-tabling other standard SNGs....

Re: 99 on button on bubble

Certainly, the all in play has some merit and it's far superior to a smaller raise or a call, but for me, 99 is right on the borderline for this play. I muck 99 and jam with TT here.

Re: 99 on button on bubble

I thought about this for a while and I ended up folding. I still had a decent amount of chips to double through.

This hand bugged me a lot during and after the hand. I'm not sure if it was...
