Re: Open pushing in later stages

that line is a scared, weak play. it sounds like you're afraid of the boogeyman behind his cards.

pushing AK there puts your risk/reward all out of whack. why push to win a tiny pot when the...

Re: It\'s a start at least...

thats the same kind of thing i do.....

the only ring games i play are 6 max, and the vast majority of my play is in the low buy in MTT's. i do pretty well there. lately i've been sitting down at...

Re: Theory of Deadweight Information Loss

quite frankly, i agree with both of you to some extent.

i think it is valuable to gain information at every available oppurtunity. i also think that sacrificing aggression for the simple...

Re: Starting hands. Too tight?

have you read HOH? if you haven't it will help.

in my daily pursuit of LAG mastery i play all those hands you mentioned, but it's not as simple as playing more hands.

you won't be able to...

Re: calculating stack ratio

the number of BB isn't nearly as useful as M ratio. the descrepancy is magnified once the antes kick in... simply adding up BB's won't give you an acurate view of your stack strength.

Re: The Orange Zone: Summary of a Pushbot

looks good to me for the most part. i find a strange sense of tranquility in the pushbot mode. you make one decision and then watch calmly as the poker gods decide your fate. i enjoy it... but...

avoid the big stack at all cost, or decided based on EV?

stars multi. i'm second in chips with a little over $11,000. the chip leader is at my table with $18,000. we are pretty far ahead of the rest of the field. he has been pushing the table...

Re: Half your stack on a suited ace?

you gotta rasie with the suited aces pre flop. don't listen to these folders. suited aces are the 3rd most valuable type of hand, behind big pairs and big cards, but ahead of small pairs and suited...

Re: How much $$ do the top online players earn?

it's hard to say from the 2+2 community who's pullin g down big bucks. i know it ain't me. i'm with the guy trying to make enough for the mountain dew at the quicke mart.

Re: sorry

you mean 3,000/1,500? at that point there would also be about a $150 ante too.

you M there is about 8.5, so it's ceratinly time to think about pushing with some big cards. but if somebody only...

Re: quick look at a hand... how many outs do i need?

yep. i semi-bluff all the time. i don't really know what made me not want to do it here.

aggressive is good, passive is bad.

Re: Too passive or just right? What do the experts think?

i'm not an expert either, but i will draw on advice from THE expert barry greenstein. he discusses this in his book, and i've heard him discuss it in interviews.

as you said, you're probably way...

quick look at a hand... how many outs do i need?

stars multi. just into the money, maybe 175 people left. i was top 30 in chips most of the way, but just lost a good chunk of chips. blinds are 300/600/75. i've got about $11,000. i'm doing this...

Re: % Finishing in the Money

calling an allin with A3o isn't always a bad thing.

ROI is more important than ITM. it's far better to get one first place than alot of barely in the money finishes.

Re: HANDS / SITUATIONS TO AVOID IN EARTLY MTT\'S

i say stick in a fat rasie with that Axs. then make a big bet if an ace hits, make a big bet if you catch 4 to the flush, or just make a continuation bet no matter what hits. you'll take down the...

Re: Is a disregard for money an essential trait to become better?

i'm with zetack on this one. you have to maintain a profound respect for the money away from the table. alot of good poker players go broke playing craps, boozing, womanizing, etc.

you do have...

Re: When not to make a continuation bet

i disagree. i think by firing into 'thinking players' is exactly how you come up with a big score. i make 3 continuation bets and take down the pot. now i'm ahead, and if the next 2 times i get...

Re: I\'m curious.

i admit, i'm an A ragger. i play almost exclusively in tournies though, so that may skew my opinion a bit.

looking at the pokerroom EV chart....every suited Ace down to A3s shows positive EV, and...

Re: How does only looking at showdown hands bias your sample?

the search function is rather weak and hard to use.

what exactly do you mean by hand reading?

as far as hold'em goes i think the...

Re: Bluffing Ratio

i think it is all in the defintion of big bluff. if you call pushing all-in on the river with nothing a big bluff.... then i only average one per tournament i'd say.

on the other hand i make a...

Re: The Hand -- An Ace-Queen Problem Part I

i think being out of postion would make me more inclined to stick in a larger than average raise. maybe $750.

i think consideration #1 is the key. try to take it down on the spot. good chacne...
