Re: I hate laying down KK on the flop

Hands like this usually show up because a hand like QQ ends up winning in the end, and you feel like a dope because you folded the best hand. If this is the case, don't worry about it. I played a...

Re: Is it OK to cold call in this situation?

[ QUOTE ]
As many have stated, 3-betting is your best option here. Though, I gotta disagree with some of the advice given on calling. I think calling with position vs. a LAG can indeed be profitable...

Re: 10k Hand tuneup

I tend to play a little tighter than most here, particularly from early position. I would be the first to admit that I am probably giving up a small amount of value, particularly at tables that...

Re: 10k Hand tuneup

Does anyone else think that there is alot of limping from early position in particular. Depending on the typical table, I understand limping later, but I don't do much limping at all from the first...

Re: Sklansky on Abortion

How so? Roe v. Wade stated that states may only regulate abortion, not forbid it. Overturning this decision would not make abortion illegal in all states, only in those states that would choose to...

Uhh bet the turn?

What's the plan against a raise? That's the main reason I made this post.

Re: AQ facing a turn donk bet

This is kind of a hijack, but I am trying to learn new lines. I see a "free showdown" line used occasionally. Is this a spot for one? Say we call the lead on the flop but raise the turn (folding...

Re: learning

I'd like to hear some other comments on this. Given the size of the pot, I don't know that I don't mind the call on the flop. The only problem I see would be that you have no reads. You miss out...

Re: middle pair - a plan?

[ QUOTE ]
For what it is worth, though, I did raise it on the flop and both the blind and the PFR folded. The cold-caller went to the end with his gutshot draw, and MHIG. I now feel that this was...

Re: foxwoods dealer mistake - what to do?

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure I know of anyone who would have handled this any better than you did. I can def. see myself berating the dealer for a little while, but in all honesty what can you do??? Abso....

Re: When to give credit (JQs 2 pair vs ??)

[ QUOTE ]
I would have check raised the turn calling down a three bet in order to trap the other loose players.

Maybe I am overlooking something, but don't we WANT raised here? If...

Re: help me, I\'m lost with pocket 9\'s

[ QUOTE ]
Normally I don't think this a 3-bet preflop against average opposition, but when the pfr is a 60/30 type the next guy in has an expanded cold calling range and considering he is already...

help me, I\'m lost with pocket 9\'s

I felt comfortable with everyone at the table, we've been playing for an hour plus.

UTG is a total donk 76/1.6/0.54
MP1 61/32/2.12 I've been looking to isolate, but haven't the last few orbits....

exactly how much do you trust your read?

Villian is your typical hyper aggro tag, 16.6/9.5/(infinity) through four orbits. He's UTG here, so even though he limps, I have him on reasonable cards. He may get out of line with his betting,...

Re: Gutshot and over(s?)

Thanks for your comments everyone. Obviously, since the hand came through, it looks good, but in retrospect, I feared the value of the raise was a little thin.

Re: Rake Question

That's awful! Essentially you are paying $30-$40 every hour as a time charge. Sounds like a pretty good way to go broke.

Gutshot and over(s?)

I know, I know, this is on UB, and I could do much better.

This is tough situation. You are either WB, or not that far ahead (he has overs).

I think waitng to raise is the best line. Your pot equity goes way up on the turn if he just has...

yes. you have the nut flush and you failed to raise the turn. failed. luckily the single guy remaining in the hand raised and allowed you to think that you played the turn well.
