Re: Post flop play help

How much weight do you give to game factors other than the purely numerical ones? I ask because there's much more to poker than pot odds. Certainly, pot odds are an important consideration, but no...

Re: Am I missing really obviuos leaks? Stats Post

Bet the turn. If you get raised, then you might consider the merits of folding (depending on how passive/aggressive the raiser is). But so far you've been given no evidence that you're behind. ...

And losing to various Aces, of course.

Re: good fold, or too weak?

We're beating KJs, QJs, and TT against a LAG, losing to AA, KK, JJ, and 99.

If there's a fold here, it should be coming earlier. By the time we get to the river, calling down seems okay. Don't...

Re: Limping/Preflop raising EV+ vs EV-

Suitedness matters a great deal.

I evaluate preflop holdings based upon what types of flop situations I'd like to wind up in. For instance, with offsuit big cards, I want only a few opponents...

Re: How is the pre flop, flop play?

Some reads would help.

Preflop: Too loose for my tastes but maybe I'm just too tight. I call here.

Flop: Fine.

Turn: I really don't like calling BB's bet. BB feels like trips; 3-bet preflop...

Re: QJs - Too fishy, too aggressive and too passive?

Preflop: Agreed, close between calling and folding. Against better opposition, I'd fold.

Flop: I like the three-bet for all the reasons you mentioned.

River: Raise. If UTG+2 had a better...

Bet flop for value or try to protect?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

BB is tight-passive.
UTG+1 is tight but not particularly aggressive.
CO is a calling...

Re: pocket pairs as drawing hands

There is no distinct dividing line between pairs as drawing hands and pairs as made hands. It depends entirely on your opponents and your position. It's not as though 99 (or whatever) is clearly a...

Re: How strong is this draw?

But you're not always drawing to a 6-outer; it's a full 8 some portion of the time. T8 doesn't bother me; if MP3 or CO wants to draw to a gutshot, they're welcome to do so drawing thin. T8s in...

Re: Not Calling 1 more bet in the BB or SB a leak?

You're already getting 8.5:1 to call. If the other limpers come along you're getting a staggering 13.5:1 to call. Those are massive pot odds, to say nothing of the implied odds. Call.

Re: How strong is this draw?

Depends on your table image I would think, but in general I'd prefer checking. With an aggressive player on the button, the flop is not likely to be checked around and you want to try to keep people...

Re: Bottom set - PFR wakes back up on the turn...

With an apparent blank falling on the river, betting out should signal Villian to watch out if he only holds two pair (we called his turn cap and kept right on going, Villian is not a known idiot). ...

Re: Bottom set - PFR wakes back up on the turn...

Can you really do anything else except check-call here? Villian could have a bigger set but he could also have two pair. You certainly can't fold for a single bet here getting 15.75:1 on calling...

Re: Big pot - JJ overplayed (?)

I'd think UTG+1 would have to be ultra-LAGgy to 3-bet the flop with only AK or AKs. My first thought was that if we are in fact ahead on the flop, we're beating ATs club/diamond and after it seems...

Re: Big pot - JJ overplayed (?)

If the opponent is passive like the rest of the table, the weak-tight demon in me wants to cap the flop and fold if UTG+1 bets out on the turn figuring I'm behind a higher PP. If UTG+1 calls my flop...

Re: Question regarding Expect to Win Percentage

You'd need to flesh out the situation more; this isn't enough information to make an estimate. If you'll allow a reworking:

You hold JTs on the button. A loose-passive player limps in UTG, all...

Re: Question regarding Expect to Win Percentage

Many times I see something like: QQ as a pocket pair is expected to win XX% of the time.

1. What can I consider my pot equity to be at this time, i.e. what percentage of the time can I...

Re: Question regarding Expect to Win Percentage

The winning percentages come from considering your outs.

First, you count up your outs. Then you can do one of a few things (I'm sure different players have different methods):

1. If you're...

Re: Pokertracker has rated me tight-aggresive-passive?

Well at least against weak-tight players it's easy enough to figure out where you stand; bet out. Their hand either fit the flop or it didn't. It's not as frustrating as playing against...

Re: WHO HAS THE BEST OF IT????

You clearly have the best of it on the turn decision. 80% of the time you win $100 and 20% of the time you lose $100. However, your opponent is not making a mistake by calling. He is accepting the...

Re: stupid bonus/jackpot question...

No, it costs you more than $3 so your implied odds are much lower. How much more depends on the nature of your opponent. If he's liable to bet almost every time on the turn, it costs you nearly $9...
