Re: Weak or standard?
Bet 2/3 on the turn and fold to raise. c/f river when that 4th club comes out. Just checking the turn leaves you no clues as to his strength in clubs.

Re: Paul Phillips method
Isn't QJ trying to get as much money in the pot as possible? Is pushing the way to do this?
It looks like hero has 66, which I'd call with. Also QQ, JJ (bien sur!), and QJ. I think villain has AA,...

Re: Standard Raise?
Let me beat the flamers to it:
2+2 orthodoxy is 4xBB + 1 BB per limper.
I don't mix my PF raises up very much. If I do it's for the bigger.

Re: 4 hands where I hit and run into resistance
First two are solid, but fold No. 3 is pretty questionable, I think. I think there's a significant chance you have the best of it in hand 4, as well, but a good player will certainly 3bet all in 777...

Folding bottom set against all-in and call
No reads on villains, really. Neither had done anything really out of line in the 50+ hands I'd been at the table.
I maybe have myself to blame for the smallish flop raise, but honestly...

Re: A Very Standard Hand
I like to bet about 2/3 pot here. You hate to do it and then get raised and then say "of COURSE he made a flush. Why did I bet?"
Bet anyway.

Re: Brunson Question
No you're not misreading it. Brunson is a big believer in "riding the rush."
Whether this takes his credibility down a peg or two is an open question.

Re: general mid pocket pair question
OOP:If it was folded around to the raised in LP, and you called in a blind, I would lead out a PSB w/ an overpair. If you limped in E-MP and there were several callers before (or after) the raiser,...

Re: 13 outs
I'd call, but I count 12 outs to beat TP. 4 Qs, 8 other diamonds (not counting the Qd). Am I missing one?

Re: outplayed or bad play?
Raising PF is ok, but it gets hairy after that.
1. I wouldn't call a reraise out of position w/ AJo.
2. I think I dislike the check-call on the turn the most. I'd bet and fold to a raise.

Re: Can I fold?
[ QUOTE ]
Do you have any reads on this opponent? If not, I guess you have to call due to pot odds at this point though you're very likely behind.
A much better way to play the hand is to call...

Re: One Good Hand, One Bad Hand
Methinks you overplay the ATs. I don't know what to make of CO's preflop minraise, but it's been done with JJ-AA on more than one occasion. That he led out and then called a big c/r on the turn is a...

If you sit at a table with observant opponents for long enough, you will see a little less action.
On the other hand, the well will not dry up. For one thing, a good number of people (esp....

Re: Easy Cash Game Strategy
I don't know about the profitability of just pushing AA/KK, and I do play some speculative hands as well, but I think previous posters have been too dismissive of "set mining" at 25-100NL tables....
