Trying to out-LAG a LAG: Right play with Q5s?

I'm not quite sure if I played this one right. Villain is agressive and fairly loose; he likes to raise and I've seen him bluff check-raise the river when the 3rd card of a suit hit. He's 38/10/2.1...

I'd be up for it, I think it's a great idea.

Re: QQ facing aggression from tightie... cap, call, or fold?

I've been sitting at the table a while, playing very tight and very aggressively. (I've been getting ass cards, and thus look something like 10%/6%/4.0 to someone with Poker Tracker.) I'm up a...

Re: Tale of Two AA

Yeah, bet both flops.

The kings hand is easy to get away from if raised, and I'd be very wary of a call, too. (assuming your opponents are reasonable)

The jacks is a harder decision if you're...

Just whose free card is this? Weak QJ on turn.

Couldn't tell if I was ahead, drawing, or drawing dead on the turn. Had the option of taking a free card, but didn't know if I wanted one.

BB is tight and somewhat passive. I don't have many...

QQ facing aggression from tightie... cap, call, or fold?

Here's a quickie. Through 40 hands, UTG is 6%/6%/infinity. Haven't really watched any of his hands to know how he plays beyond that. The other two are tropical poker fish.

Preflop: Hero is...

Re: Feeling Clueless

I think I'd fold the river. There are only a few hands BB would play this way that you have beat (J9, T9, or overplayed Kx or Qx). BUT:

Re: HELP!!!!!!!!

3.5BB/100 is an extremely good winrate. 30k hands is a decent sample, but not a lot. This is simply normal variance.

To put it in perspective, I had a very good winrate for my first 30k hands...

Re: KK vs table LAG... do I wuss out?

I'm a bigger wuss than I thought.

The check-raise on the turn, following the flop check-raise, doesn't worry anyone?

Thanks for the replies,

KK vs table LAG... do I wuss out?

Take one helping of KK, mix in a ragged flop and a touch of LAG, and here you go. My thoughts went from "That's a great flop for me!" to "I want my mommy."

UTG+2 is a LAG (52/7/1.5), though he's...

AKo either chopping or losing, but look at all the dead money!

Here's a hand that I was pretty sure I was either chopping or losing, but I didn't quite know how to deal with all the dead money in there on the flop. Didn't know if I should keep them in, drive em...

Re: Fearing you draw to the nuts may be not good

I would fold.

No, I would curse, then fold.

I think the check-raise, check-reraise, check-cap really seals the deal. If it were just two people jacking it up between them, I'd probably grumble...

Re: 4/8 when you think you\'re beat.

I'd play it the same way.

Folding is out of the question. Whether you think you're good enough to raise the turn/river is probably read-dependent, but if typical play is really as passive as...

Re: Flopped Flush, What now?

People seem to be able to convince themselves rather quickly that no one has the goods when a 3-flush flops. In fact, I found that a lot of people expect you to slowplay it, so they call/raise with...

Re: River decision TPGK

I think it takes a tough player to bluff-raise the river. I think it also takes a tough player who knows he's against a tough player, because who the heck folds on the river?

Fold the river.

Re: Last one for the day: AKs: gaybet by donkey

Raise.

If 3-bet, see the turn.
If called, you can check behind on the turn or bet, depending on the card and your read of the opponent. (If bet into again unimproved, it looks like a fold.)

"3-donking" is not an acceptable term. You can donk and you can cold donk, but not 3-donk.
