Re: Call, fold, or raise?

Well, I've been having problems playing an "average stack" at this stage of the tournament (N players = 2x N paid). I've been busting out on coin flip (and 3:2 favorite) situations in the last 5...

Re: AKs on the bubble

Right now, the pot has about T3200 in it, plus the T400 that the BB will/should call with. Even if you knew QQ was out there, you're getting a good price with AK.

I think that I'll make this...

Re: Hi, evaluate me

Oops... _now_ I see that our hero is in the BB. Definitely pushing in on the turn here. Gotta start reading these more carefully when I post. Sorry.

Re: Hi, evaluate me

I don't like the river bet. You've been showing strength the whole way, and he's been calling. My read on the flop would have been a pair, quite possibly a slow-played AA or KK, or maybe a hand...

Re: AK hand

Something doesn't add up here... loose agressive player calls 40% of his stack off preflop, then bets T500 into that pot. I think he's saying one of two things-- "I've got a boat and I want you to...

Re: Very Important William Hill Problem

Yeah, I always love to see that my balance has gone up after a tourney. For some reason, I don't ever seem to check my balance after busting out on the bubble /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Re: near bubble

I don't consider 100/200 blinds to be "small". Near the bubble is the point of a tourney where I switch gears and start playing more agressive, raising preflop with more hands, and hoping to pick up...

Re: Who started the pattern mapping tornado?

Hi Phishy,

Yes, it would be a great advantage in a poker tournament if you could pick up a pattern on the random number generator. (Now I don't feel as bad responding in the tourney forum...

Re: AA in the SB

This is why I absolutely hate limping preflop with AA... you give the BB a free look at a flop, and you have no clue what hand he holds. Also, you have no read on your opponent as yet. So you don't...

Re: Is this just bad luck??

Given your stack size, there's no way (short of mucking QQ preflop) that you're going to avoid this, short of looking at his cards preflop.

Re: Strategy as Chip Leader

I'd say everything but "a"... If I jump out to a 2:1 chip lead early in a sit'n go (usually 2 table pokerstars for me) or multitable tourney, I will loosen up my preflop raising...

Re: Situation I think I get wrong every time

Hi Cris,

Thanks. The reason I ask is that, if I were sitting at the table, I would read the BB's check on this board to mean he doesn't have a flush draw. Assuming that I can ingore the voice in...

Re: Situation I have never come across....what do I do? I\'m stumped.

The first and most important thing to realize here, is that there is nothing in that pot worth risking a large number of chips over. Once you realize this, the play of the hand becomes alot easier. ...

Re: How good is my TT?

I think allin is perfectly fine, since you want the pot and a reasonable bet commits you anyway. But I think a better play may be to check behind, though I'm probably going bust on the flop here...

Re: Situation I think I get wrong every time

It may be a leak in my game, but I push in every time here against a generic ($10-$20 buyin) opponent. The pot is too big, and my stack is getting short enough that it's time to take some chances. ...
