Re: How to find a game in a college town?

Don't look online. Go to a bar and try to befriend a crowd of drunks for the day.

Re: Tells section from SSHE

Agreed, also the part about not wearing shades is stupid. People DO try to read your eyes for info. Be safe and cover that [censored] up so they don't have a chance of reading you

Re: Stopping BS at a home game vs table image

I was thinking that also, but even sucky people can use that extra info to their advantage. Like if it's down to 2 people and you fold to his checkraise all in and show top pair. I'd want him to...

Stopping BS at a home game vs table image

Occasionally I play at this NL home game against some friends of our family. No one knows how to play except me so I am somewhat respected at the table. Something that bothers me however is how...

I have an Emigrant account and don't understand why you don't trust them. They are an excellent, higher interest alternative to ING (I think 3.15% vs 3.5 is pretty substantial) ...

What causes gambling addiction?

Some people can't gamble enough, they seem to be able to play for as long as they are awake. How do you guys think they are able to maintain an interest in playing for so long? I ask because I have...

Re: 2/4 ahorthanded on Party

my bad. I was careful not to say 6 max, there are 4-6 handed games going on most of the time

2/4 shorthanded on Party

I was wondering how you guys think the 2/4 shorthanded tables on party compare to the 3/6-5/10 (which I hear play similiar) I know I could play somehwere else like Stars before moving up but I've...

18.5/8.5 at 25NL 6 max help

NL has really put me into a shell because I'm afraid to play aggresive when my whole stack is always at risk. I'm playing very tight from EP, i may limp strong speculative hands (suited connectors or...

Re: Top two NL50 (big stacks)

Unless he makes plays I don't think he's pushing TPTK or weaker here. I'm thinking he has 77, 99/TT maybe (less likely) strange flush draw that hit a smaller 2 pair. if I had a set I play it exactly...

Re: My story

That's interesting, I'd have thought that high limit players would be playing 3 tables at most so they could pick up every single move their opponents are making (to avoid those expensive .2 bb...

Re: 6 or 10 seat table. which do you prefer and why?

The biggest adjustment IMO is learning how hand values change. In 6 max hands like TPWK, MPGK, or a PP higher than the middle card are good hands. For most hands your threat of domination drops...

Re: QQ preflop line

not necessarily, my minraise could easily be an attempt to regain control. I think 99, TT, etc could 4bet here. I think I agree with a push now. Against a larger stack I probably raise to $8 and fold...

Re: I really need some advice (beginner/intermediate...I\'m not sure)

I'm no expert but I don't see anything wrong. You are putting half pot-full pot size bets in all of these right? If so then realize you are screwing up these guys' odds to draw against you but they...

Re: QQ preflop line

On the flop QQ is 2/3 favorite but with 5 cards to come I think it's pretty close.

What are you trying to accomplish with the push after his initial limp/reraise?

QQ preflop line

Hero: $27
UTG: $13

25NL 6 max and I have QQ in MP. UTG limps and I raise $1, folded around to UTG who reraises to $3. I minraise to $5.75,he minraises back, 3 more raises and he is all in.

Re: heh, maybe i should stick with NO LIMIT =p

VNH, I made the switch a couple weeks ago and like NL's low variance (compared to limit) Are most of those hands from the lower or higher levels?

Re: Empire 15% to $100 bonus

Sorry guys I goofed, the bonus is GET15. I guess it may be account specific because I got the message (in the Empire window) a couple days ago. No link but I uploaded a pic to show you I'm not BSing...

Empire 15% to $100 bonus

Haven't seen this posted yet (surprisingly) Empire's GET15 is out, 15% to $100 with 5x playthrough.

Enjoy

EDIT I'm a fool, it is not bonusaug The code is GET15

Re: To weak preflop?

I'd never fold AK to a 5 bb raise but I don't play LAG. Since this is your image I would be even more inclined to call because I think CO's raising range is wider than 2% (usually a low percent like...

Re: PL 200 tough spot

Maybe you think with 80-90% accuracy that you're ahead of UTG but you can never know for sure unless he flips his cards. Bad players get lucky. When average button calls you should have no problem...

Re: QQ with paired flop

I'm folding for 2 reasons

1. If I don't have a good read a C/R all in is usually an easy fold unles I have a strong hand. Your hand is only marginal on this board. The best you can hope for is a...
