Re: Should you always call with an edge?

I don't recommend taking the draw unless you are a weaker player and are looking for a double up or bust out. Tournaments are about survival early in a tournament it just isn't worth it.

I did...

Re: 20-40 at the Bike

Beware of players giving lessons at the table. I'd ignore them completely.

A case can be made for a limp here for a couple of reasons mostly for future play. I don't think you will be...

Re: Big pot: applying a concept, how\'d I do?

Yep this happens all the time where the button is on a buy. I like the ck raise here but the hand is played very weak thereafter. I have no idea why one wouldn't bet out on the turn and river...

Re: not him too...

I read this article this morning and thought the same thing. A must admit it looks like a raise to me too but mixing it up has advantages later in the game.

I just hate to be predictable.

Re: How Not To Play AQs?

Geesch - If you are going to pre flop raise then check/call it down you are posing absolutely no threat to these players. You really ought to be making some sort of moves here like ck raise on the...

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

Wish you could be priven wrong but is is impossible - such a stupid thread I don't beleive I got involved - BTW even "experts" bust out all the time IF you ever meet one you just ask him.

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

I have busted out of tournaments 4 times on the first hand with AA - I have seen it many more times - as a matter of fact I'd say my my biggest bust out hands are AAKKQQ and I'd bet most of you could...

Re: Marginal Hands?

Not really - on TV you are seeing the last 6 or less playing for alot of money - which makes it a whole lot different than any other sort of poker.

What seperates great players from just good...

Re: Tournaments versus Cash Games

Over a 2 year period when I was playing every day both tournaments and ring games my hourly rate was almost exactly the same.

But I would say ring games are an easy call even in a weak field...

Re: Remember the girl of your life?

I was 25 that was a long time ago but I did find her.

It's not hard with all the tools the internet offers.

Anyway finding a life girl is worth the effort but it doesn't change anything you...

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

Well some guy - you'd probably bust out the 1st hand.

LOL - some mutt is more like it.

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

Wrong just plain wrong. There is just no way to prove it but I'd bet a lot of money on it.

How\'s this for getting cracked.

Harras carnival of poker. AA cracked 8 times busting me out of all the tournaments and some sats. Thank goodness for some good ring play and single sat table success salvaging a nasty trip.

Re: Questioning my tournament play. Comments appreciated.

Problem you are facing is SB can call your all in here and still be in contention. SO I think your play here is to go all in and see all 5 board cards. Chances are you pick up the blinds which is...

Re: Where did I go wrong in this hand?

Looks like a routine sort of hand to the turn. I will be eigther checking preflop or going all in. I like the check here. CHeck fold the flop. You worked to hard here to dump it all with no real...

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

Really - now let's think about that - speaking as a guy who busted out of 8 tournaments at the carnival of poker with AA once back to back. All were pre flop all ins I couldn't avoid nor did I want...

Re: theoretical question: how many callers do you want with aces?

I have this theory I am sure shared by others that a lot of players means the deck is rich in smaller cards - this does work for me - say I'm on the button with a lot of limpers or say 1 or 2 raises...

Re: If you had Jacks every hand...

Ironic you asked this question - I was in a live MTT and we were discussing getting AA every hand most of us agreed it would be hard to make the final table. Now some guy thinks you will WIN 95% of...

Re: Flopped Set - Big action

Only possible mistake here is not being a bit more agressive on the flop see if a big K might over play his hand. If one starts floding sets in situations like this he might as well play another...

Re: What\'s your play here?

Unless this guy is a total mutt I probably just muck this hand. He is not on the button or CO so a steal is probably not the case. It is probably a mistake to call pre flop at a full table. I...

Re: UB antee stage AK...

NO it was a good play. Even going all in pre flop is not bad here. The thing one really does not want to do here is slow play be agressive with a short handed table like this.

Re: Opponent that always complete sb...

Good players heads up are hyper agressive raising every hand putting pressure on their opponent. It is the best way to handle them specially a calling station. If you lose you lose never fear...

Re: All in Call Question - bugging me still

These cheap on line tournanmets are pure crap shoots you really can't even call them poker. But if you flop a set in a tournament like this - only in one like this - I'd just go allin. You are sure...
