Re: Games spread at President St. Louis?

I was there a couple of weekends ago in a similar car-less situation. They were spreading a NL game and a few tables of 4/8 with 1/2 blinds.

Can't say I liked the room. It was a total dump,...

Re: Leg muscle twitching

It's totally normal. Don't go searching Google for it or you'll get completely freaked out, but it's a very common and benign thing. Pretty much everyone gets 'em (most people don't notice) but...

Re: Bellagio 4/8 Premature Flop Muckage

He claimed he had a full house but could not produce it?
Did he claim the flop was not QQ9?

Your story has a few holes.

Huh? What holes?

Bellagio 4/8 Premature Flop Muckage

Just got back from a weekend in Vegas and this interesting little gem of a hand came up on my first session in the 4/8 game. Lots of floor involvement, lots of anger, tons of fun.

I'm UTG+1 and...

Re: Anyone else at Univ. of Illinois?

1997 grad, working in Central Illinois although not flipping burgers as generally prognosticated.

Early lines has IL +1.5. I think this is going to be a statement game for one of the teams so I'm...

Adjusting to 1/2 -- 99 play

No reads other than the table is pretty tight. I'm struggling a bit with 99 - it's run into really passively played TT and JJ at this level a couple of times.

My default policy with hands like 99...

Re: First session of 1/2 - multiple hands

I just made my first foray into $1/$2 last night as well and was wondering if the super-aggro nature of the games I found myself in were par for the course. Mine never really got any better to tell...

Re: consecutive hands won (little content)

Saw a guy win 15 kill pots in a row this weekend in a live 3/6 game. And it wasn't like people weren't taking shots at him; he was just drawing out with crap. It was unbelievable.

Ran his $100...

Re: Online 1/2 equivalent to B&M ???

Played in a live 3/6 full kill game for the first time this weekend after about 5k hands at Party .5/1 and I'd have to the play was weaker than some Party tables I've been on. Comparable to most.

Re: Complete tool move? I hate people.

I thought it was pretty crazy. If he tried that in the wrong game I'm pretty sure he would have gotten some vigilante justice on his exit.

I'm actually surprised that no one called the floor. ...

Re: Live 3/6 Kill hand with maniac

Interesting. Maybe I was off base from the start.

I figured A7s would be in the zone given that he was seeing every flop and had shown down crap (albeit winning crap) on the previous set of...

Complete tool move? I hate people.

Had cashed out of my game and was watching one of my buddies at a $200 NL table when the following occurred:

Young college kid that couldn't keep his mouth shut and generally came off as a jerk is...

Live 3/6 Kill hand with maniac

My first SS post:

Maniac is UTG, in the kill (game is playing $6/$12) and has raised the last 20 hands preflop. He's showing down crap to the river and winning lucky more often than not. Up...

Trump Indiana Trip: Attack of the Lucky Maniac. Long.

Two of my buddies and I -- all of us internet players with little or no B&M experience -- jumped in the car and headed three hours up I-55 to Trump Indiana yesterday. Got into the cardroom about...

Re: advise -- what to do when having a downswing

I just dug my way out of a 90BB downswing, during which I felt my play wasn't off. It was just that I was hitting a stretch where my draws didn't make it or my big pairs were getting rivered by some...

AQ s00t3d and action ...

... some would say too much action. Absolutely no reads as I just sat down at the table -- thus the initial call before all hell broke loose.

I will admit I was flummoxed on the flop given the...

Re: Nightmare Session - Part 1

I know your pain. I got lit up for 35 BB in one hour on an insane table where people were capping on every street with gems like 42s. Even when they didn't improve.

My flushes never got there...

Re: set of queens - flop decision

I'm going to lose a lot of money on this hand with this flop if the rockets are in there -- because I'm not going to believe AA until someone shows it to me. (Unless, of course, Pokertracker shows...

Re: First post: Odd hand with 99

Great discussion so far guys, thanks! Here's some of my thinking on the hand. Hopefully y'all can point out where I'm way off-base.

Preflop: 99 is usually my cutoff for limping/raising in EP,...

First post: Odd hand with 99

Long time lurker -- finally have a hand I think worthy of discussion.

BB is loose and sometimes aggressive postflop. Table is typical passive Party .50/1 with only rare preflop raises. Have seen...

Re: Building a table question...

I managed to build a pretty decent poker table out of an old dining room table. I've seen tables of this type for around $50 at garage sales here and there, so it's not like it's something special;...
