Re: This is tough to write

I can't even imagine what you are going through right now but my thoughts are with you and your family. Good luck and stay up.

Re: Zip the back up for me?

[ QUOTE ]
I'd tend to believe the BB is betting overs, hoping to steal, and raise him about $40. Chances are you take down the pot here. If it's reraised, then I'd say it's up to your read.

Re: Zip the back up for me?

[ QUOTE ]
I think raising the flop is important. Calling leaves you with almost certainly the best hand but no idea what anyone else has. Reraise the flop to $60 and go from there. A5 and 44 are...

Re: Zip the back up for me?

If I raise the turn, what better hands am I going to fold? And if I'm ahead, what hands am I afraid of giving a cheap card to?

Zip the back up for me?

2/4 NL

I'm playing a relatively short stack with ~$270. BB has $250ish and UTG+1 has me covered. The table is tight-passive, usually a LMP-to-button raise for 3xBB, maybe a heads-up flop. A...

Re: up

Fair enough, but I still had to do something on the turn.

Are you saying you think it's too close to matter?

Accidentally betting 25x pot

I have the pedal to the metal in full bully mode. The players see me raising to 4xBB 4 out of 5 hands so they call with anything, sometimes they see the turn, usually they just fold the flop. My...

I\'ll chime in for Matt too

I knew him back when I lived in the Bay Area and he was the TD at Lucky Chances. Really nice guy.

Also he apparently instituted the "no tolerance for dealer abuse" policy at the WSOP.

Re: Funniest Line You Ever SAID at a Poker Table

I'm a young guy, and I have one of those young-guy intentionally-messy haircuts. I had been getting into it with an older guy again and again, nothing personal, but I was beating him in a lot of...

Re: out of line?

the cards are irrelevant in this type of situation. The only reason you even look is in case your opponent catches you playing blind.

I hope he's so good that he can get 2 more BBs out of his "deception" after the flop.

Re: What an under-full world

BB showed Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif 4/images/graemlins/spade.gif and took it down. UTG had K/images/graemlins/heart.gif 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif for the rivered flush.

Re: What an under-full world

[ QUOTE ]
oh, and calling the 3-bet on the flop is a HUGE mistake. the 3-bettor either has a 4 or an 8 or a MUCH better draw than you. you are way behind and drawing to a 2 outer, my friend.

This is kind of a tired question. As was previously mentioned, Truman made this call. He went to his deathbed believing it was the right thing to do.

Yeah, what I figured I'd hear. I suck. I really thought SB had an underpair to the aces, JJ or thereabouts. BB was routinely betting and raising and 3-betting on the turn with nothing, so I...
