Re: turn action!

If you're worried your beaten you're probably better off tossing out a bet and seeing what happens. If he raises you reconsider.

Also, note that this hand becomes much easier to play if you would...

Re: Nice hand -- for me to poop on!

I just cannot see the point of three betting. Sure, you 'charge' a diamond draw, but the whole thing just looks like a slowplayed 9. If he has a Q then let him bet on the river.

It's one of those...

Re: Playing with high limit semi-donks

Sage counsel.

Like someone (I can't remember who) once said, people communicate with their chips. And when someone check raises the turn, what they're typically communicating is 'I'm not folding...

I guess I\'m biased...

Since I'm a contributing writer to Bluff. But I admit that all these mags are a little light when it comes to strategy.

Re: Outsourcing Poker

If a guy had access to 3rd world PhD's he would do much better by teaching them how to scalp/middle sporting events and putting them in front of the Don Best ticker.

Re: Sticky Bonuses and video poker

That's the first place I checked, but I couldn't find anything. And they're not accepting new questions /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Sticky Bonuses and video poker

Hi all,

Has anyone crunched any numbers on whether or not it's profitable to play full pay video poker (e.g., 9/6 Jacks or Better) online when collecting a sticky bonus? The bonus isn't cashable,...

Re: 99 that set

Finding ways to save money when you're set-undered should be the absolute last thing you concern yourself with when it comes to improving your game. This is like holding the 5d 6d, catching a flop of...

My Bad

I thought the turn was a deuce, putting four to the wheel on board.

Everything Bicyclekick said is spot-on.

Re: Flopped a set -- did I maximize my $?

With the recent boom in hold 'em, you're going to find more and more players who play some hands very strangely that are going to run quite well for an extended period of time. Call it a 'selection...

Another Factor

Another reason why I think you're seeing more good players take some nasty downswings has to do with the way the game has changeed in the past 4 years. Back in 1999, when I used to play up at the...

Re: limping towards the flop, over and over.

I would take that hand in a 10-handed capped pot all day long.

Whuh?

I don't think there's any way you could fold on the turn if bet into. This may have been true five years ago, but not now-- not with the way these games play.

One interesting line to take here...

Re: The Satellite.

I'm really not all that impressed with someone who calls with the boss full on the river when a guy bets the nut flush. You call him down with seven-high and win, that's one thing. But there's...

A couple that spring to mind:

92s-- The Montana Banana
53s-- The Ethiopian Slingshot

One other thing..

This show would have been 10x better if these three kids had been busted by the Matador in a straight-up honest game, and were now looking to 'take him down' (whatever that means) because they were...

Re: Unofficial Tilt review post...anyone else have a problem with...

This show was pre-destined to suck. Anyone who's gotten a feel for ESPN's scripted progamming had to know this show had no chance at all. Still, I agree that it was worse than I thought it would be....

Re: 20-40 in tunica; got my fat ast kicked.

I know exactly what you're talking about. For years, whenever I got buried, I would always catch one or two cards near the end of a session to either pull me out or take a bit of the sting out of it....

Re: two q\'s about one situation

Wait until you see your cards first-- that should make the decision a whole lot clearer.

Re: stop jerking people around.

Thanks for the kind words.
