Re: The Protected Pot Effect: A Study from 2/4

This is a sure call. Whether it's protected or not, the pot is so big that calling is clearly +EV. You will be shown a worse king, a 7 or even a busted flush draw making a move on this big pot...

Re: Top set gets raised on the river

Cap freflop and check/raise the flop. With the fish in the hand, it's a good time for a cap. On the river, I can't see him having an overpair enough to 3-bet, and if I did three bet I'd have to fold...

Re: Turn semi-bluff raise, bad spot?

Yeah, I think I agree with you. AQ, KQ, TT, JJ are very likely hands. This was probably a bad spot for a semi-bluff. If called on the turn, I was intending to check behind on the river.

Re: Second pair against flop 3-better

Preflop is good. Flop raise is okey. Very easy fold on the turn.

Re: AJ on the button facing too much action.

As others said, calling the flop raise and raising a safe turn is probably your best move. After the turn 3-bet, I'm calling down.

Turn semi-bluff raise, bad spot?

Bad spot for a semi-bluff raise?! (Villain's 27/10/0.8 over only 40 hands).

Re: Reraise on Turn with small straight in a very big pot?

Fold preflop, raise the flop, 3-bet the turn. It's not close.

Re: Who plays this one/quick preflop?

Very very easy fold. You don't have odds for hitting a set and you wont know if you have the best hand postflop. Pot is gonna be 3-handed at least with several bets, which isn't a good spot for a low...

Re: Can you ditch the ladies here?

Bet the flop! You don't want to give a free card with this board. Turn is a bet / fold pretty often, if your read doesn't tell you otherwise.

I think checking this turn would be alright against a tight player (that wouldn't call without some piece of the flop) with our outs and then calling...

Re: thinkin WA/WB, but then it just kept gettin uglier

I would fold this turn. Your behind pretty much all of the time on the turn, and when your not he probably has a good club redraw.
