Re: Got called a wussy after this hand...True or False?

Basically what everybody else said. I don't see him trying to check-raise once the heart comes, because what if you just have a Q or AK or something? You won't bet the river, and he'll lose a lot...

Re: good or bad push?

I think the overbet looks shady, and I call with AA instantly in this spot.

Re: Results

Even though I read him as having J9 here, I think I would still push, given your description. He's definitely going to call with a worse 2 pair. I mean, it's pretty much a raise/fold situation to...

Re: Set in unraised $100 NL pot - call $200?

[ QUOTE ]
Since your starting stack was over 200 BBs, you should fold. If you (or villain) had only 100 BBs, I might consider a call, and at, say, 75 BBs it would be an easy call. However, a losing...

Re: HU 10-20 NL

I would guess that he has J9 or a smaller two pair, or just a bluff on his pair w/inside straight draw. Set seems unlikely, if he's loose enough to raise preflop with garbage he's going to raise...

Re: Set in unraised $100 NL pot - call $200?

It seems a bit suspect. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him turn over a big pair here, or some sort of good draw. While it's true you're not _that_ far ahead of good draws, and you're way...

Re: Would anyone go for a steal here? stud8

All the tens are dead, I don't see why not. You've got 9's against a bunch of people who are essentially playing with 2 cards. No low draws possible. I raise for sure.

Re: Rolled Ks vs. suited connecting lows. All the way or bail 4th?

Ha, at first I thought this thread was talking about stud high and I nearly wet myself laughing at the subject. I have no useful advice for H/L, just had to mention that.

Re: 30-60 Stud Hand: Find a Fold Here?

He could have any pair above 5's, including 66-JJ, so I'm not sure why you don't reraise on 3rd. Personally I would probably play it the same way you did, folding if he reraises you on 5th, except I...

You played it right, sucks about the bad beat.

Re: NL2000 Could I lay down this set ?

If you lead with anything, isn't that all the more reason to lead with your sets? Whenever a really aggressive player checks the flop I get suspicious.

Re: NL2000 Could I lay down this set ?

I agree that JT seems the most likely, but I think when you factor everything in (QQ, JTo, and 67 being unlikely for various reasons) he has 88 and 55 more than often enough to make the 1.8-to-1 push...

Re: Nut flush on unpaired board; interesting river decision?

I can't imagine folding this, you almost always have the best hand, but it is arguable how to extract the most money from him. He's probably got a lower flush than you, which means it would be hard...

Re: NL2000 Could I lay down this set ?

Well, as I see it you committed yourself on the turn one way or another. You say you're going to see what happens on the river, but then when he pushes all in, you call anyway..so obviously you've...

Re: KK Call or Fold?

I'm sure I'm going to come off sounding naive here, but it's unbelievable to me how tight some of you guys are. Fold preflop, are you serious? This is a 3/6 online NL game. Not 100/200 at the Taj....

Re: How to marry oneself to an unwilling pot

The hand itself I don't think you played too badly..you shouldn't have committed so much with the turn bet. What I wanted to mention is when someone looks befuddled and says "alright" it practically...

Re: How do you play QJs in short handed games?

Keep in mind I always lean towards the side of aggression, especially in cash games.

Hand 1, is he the type who will call you on that flop with AQ? The turn actually seems pretty good for you...

Re: Am a TAG want to master LAG

I consider myself very much a LAG bully-type player, at least when I have the chips. When I play in small buyin online tournaments ($100 or less), I gamble early a lot. But doing this, you have to...

Re: Results

Probably not too much value, but if you're going to call his bet anyway you might as well fire. He could call with Ah8d or something similar.

Re: A confusing stud 8 hang

You raised with a J showing, so he knows you must have sevens beat. He could have two pair but that's 50/50 and you're almost never scooping this, so fifth seems like a pretty clear fold to me.

Re: Attacking the blinds late in tournament

Something that I get a lot of heat for is the fact that I almost never push all in on my short stack with Ax, as you did in your example. I prefer to limp with those, and go all-in when I have a...

Re: Nut flush on a paired board

It's difficult because there was no preflop action, so he could have any two cards, and no matter what he has it looks like he played it badly. His bet on the turn makes me think that he has a J...

Re: Very Strange Hand Party 2k

Looking at the hand it seems that he could very easily have KK or QQ here. You flat-called preflop, you flat-called a raise and then a reraise on the flop..I mean..I assume you don't normally play...

Re: Good float?

I don't see how you can fold the flop. You're beating more than half of the hands he can bet with there, and if he has a J your flush draw will usually be good. If the guy behind you is a chaser,...
