Epiphany?

Ok, with a bit of a bruised ego I slinked away from this forum a few days ago. The questionable raise with T7s on the button was brought up by a few folks, and the missed bet on the river was, if I...

Re: Starting the \"suited connectors suck\" campaign........

[ QUOTE ]
judging from your river check holding 97 on a board of JJ77x after everyone kept checking and calling to you, you don't play well post-flop, so you DEFINITELY shouldn't be making these...

Re: More trouble w/suited connectors

Look at it like this:

after the betting on the flop there's ~7 big bets in the pot. If you bet the turn and get check-raised by MP2, if CO raises you can fold knowing he had the str8. If CO calls...

Re: Starting the \"suited connectors suck\" campaign........

I couldn't disagree more. 97s is one of my favorite hands. I've also found that varying your play by raising preflop with no-gap suited connectors from MP or even 1-2 gappers like T7s on the button...

Did I miss a bet?

This was in a sort of home game last night.

Playing 3/6 hold'em.

I'm on the button.

UTG (fairly solid values) limps in, folded to me.

I raise with T /images/graemlins/spade.gif 7...

How often to raise pf?

How often should one be raising pf (assuming good starting hands)? Maybe this should be broken down further by position?

Re: Call Down Mode with TPTK

you're right. That's why I opted to go into call-down rather than fold. I've been bet to the river by someone holding AK so many times on the 0.5/1 tables it's ridiculous.

I also see the point...

Call Down Mode with TPTK

I'd be interested as well. I'm a native of Dayton but haven't lived there in years. I do visit family quite often, though, and am always looking for a game.

Re: what\'s your poker wisdom?

(I'm a relative newbie, so take this FWIW)

Let the size of the pot guide your decision. The bigger the pot the better it is to go for it and see what happens.

Almost always bet your draws,...
