The old \'limp-reraise\', hey?!

If he is any good, you need to know what his perception of you is. If he thinks you are tight, he will put you on a big pair for sure. If you have splashed around with him, he might not need to flop...

Re: Buying in for 50BB

[ QUOTE ]
If you have a smaller stack it seems like players doesn't recognize you as a good player as when you have a big stack.

Buying in for 50BB

Barry Greenstein's book points out that there are some advantages to buying in fairly short. The main one seems to be that you have a bigger stack when you are playing well / winning.

I gave this...

Just ONE

I can only manage to play one table at a time. I know I am in the minority (of maybe 1%) from what I read on here, but my win-rate is pretty good, so who cares?!

Just go with what feels...

Re: General AA OOP Strategy post.

You need to make a strong bet at this flop:
i) You likely have the best hand
ii) There are many draws
iii) A weak bet or a check invites your opponents to take a shot, making your decisions harder...

Re: Compare winrates of NL to limit, which can I make more $ multi-tabling

I think you could afford to play higher than 25c-50c NL if you had a $1200 bankroll (comparison you gave for the $2-$4 limit game), assuming that you can beat the game for 8 PTBB/100.

I think a...

For all you know....

.... this fish could really be a shark, letting off some steam at low limits after taking a couple of beats at $50/$100.

AKo in EP - What\'s it worth??

Lets assume the following circumstances:
- online NL, blinds 2/4, full table
- usual mix of 3-4 solid multi-tablers, 1-2 LAG(ish), 2 weak/tight, 1-2 bad
- stack sizes all 100BB except for 3 (2 x...

Conclusion

The consensus seems to be IN FAVOUR of multi-tabling. That said, I just dont think its something that suits me and I will continue to play one table at a time.

I guess that many (but not all!)...

Re: Value of multi-tabling ? (LONG)

[ QUOTE ]
I think the people who are good at multitabling just think really quickly. I play 4 tables, and I rarely miss something important.

If my multitabling winrate is lower than my single...

Value of multi-tabling ? (LONG)

I have played online on-and-off for about 4 years and recently the number of players multi-tabling has increased dramatically.

I currently play mostly on Prima at 2/4 full ring (although I will...

Re: Managing small bankroll

I will try a sensible response if I may.

Stick to $25 buy-in NL until you get up to $250, then try out $50 buy-in.

Obviously this assumes that you will win at both the $25 and $50 buy-in...

Re: Understanding Poker Conceptually, Experts Please Respond

You need to think more in line with how a chess player would think ie. for hold 'em you need to think anything from 3-8 moves ahead.

Example, you are in late position in NLHE. Things to consider...

Re: Poker is Gambling

A few random points:

1. Poker for a good player IS gambling in the same way that roulette is to a casino.

2. All other things being equal, a bigger bankroll makes it more likely that you will...

Re: The smooth call bluff.....what do you think?

I think the 'call bluff' works better when the board has little in the way of drawing options.
