Re: QQ free showdown raise

I don't think he has a T too often. He could have a flush or straight draw in which case he might c/f the river, but will have to call our turn raise. I don't know if he will have these enough.

Re: QQ free showdown raise

I like it better than a calldow, but I think you might be able to fold the turn.

Re: A7s

I bet/fold the river. Why would you expect him to take a free card? I think he has a made hand far more often than a draw.

Re: Free showdown

[ QUOTE ]
I think if you're going to raise for a free showdown, you should probably fold when BB 3-bets.

Yeah, I think this is really implicit in the line. I like the raise...

Re: turning donk

my equity edge is really, really, quite tiny. HE has position, and I gain a tactical advantage by not capping. I leave my hand range ambiguous, so he is more likely to misread me later.

Re: turning donk

With this player I maintain more control over the hand by not capping preflop. I think this outweighs the small edge I forfeit by not capping. He has position and I should plan on seeing showdown,...

Re: KQo against Mr. Fancy pants

Why would we assume villain has a smaller pocket pair 90% of the time? I would guess we're aheads of villain a lot here, and we make up the difference with our minions of outs.

turning donk

Villain is 34/20/2.2 over 400 hands. Pretty aggro, but not totally insane. He has an aggressive impression of me, and I think he could 3 bet down to AT/9s, 77

Re: T9s vs. a pain in the ass

In hand 1, was your flop raise for a free card, or were you going to follow on the turn UI if you got it HU and SB just called your raise? I like the raise, and I would take a free card.

I fold...

Re: vague theoretical question, kinda interesting

In these situations I tend to bet when checking would be higher EV for metagame reasons. I'm sure it could go the other way too, but I don't quite have a grasp an when it would be most applicable.

Re: 66 Hand that I watched

I like his preflop cap against some TAGs (depends on his reads). If the TAG he is up against is being aggressive enough in steal situations that the cap is good, he should call the flop c/r. Maybe...

No, it is the actual long term value we gain from his fold. Try and get through my long post. Hopefully it is coherent.

Re: long discussion on equities

From a theoretical standpoint:

Equity is an actual measure of a portion of the pot. Pot equity is comprised of our hand equity + our fold equity. Our hand equity is the % that our hand will win...

Re: 3/6: Value Bet or No?

I would raise the flop, bet turn, and check behind river. FWIW, I would take the same line probably 20%-40% of the time with something with AJ.
