Re: How\'s my line?

Jesus christ, I didn't look at the results yet, but did you really let the river get checked through even though you had a set.

/images/graemlins/mad.gif I think I just threw up a little bit...

Your assuming his raising hand had to have contained an ace then, right? Is he that predictable? You made my point, you showed all of your aggression before the ace showed up....

Re: How\'s my line?

What'd you put MP2 on? Unless it was QQ, why not raise that turn? He may have waited for the turn to raise a non-flush card. He might have AQ, or an overpair. I know lots of players who will do...

Re: Playing 99/TT to passive?

*grunch*

I think the first hand is OK, but I MAY bet the flop.

I really dislike the second hand though. First, I 3 bet pre-flop to fold everyone else behind me, and get position.

Even if...

Re: JJ against 3 bet and an overcard paired board

I cap preflop. Then I might call the flop and raise the turn. I think the vast majority of folks fold to the turn raise without a king. I think you even get a small number of people with pocket...

Then why was he 3-betting the turn? With AK /images/graemlins/heart.gif as a semi-bluff? Seems to me that he would want MP to call, and not face him with 2 BB cold. I think...

Re: How to play sets (new here and to limit)

Hand 1 is good. I like your line the whole way. It's fine to call the raise PF.

I might bet the flop, especially if the PF raiser is not too aggressive and might check the flop. The fact that...

Re: QQ...you be the judge.

Flop play is fine. Turn raise is probably fine too. When 3 bet, I think you're in call-down territory.

I seriously don't understand your river raise. I think the excitement of the moment got to...

Re: I thought cutoff was on a steal...

I fold this preflop too. I'm definitely raising the river though, with only T-9 and JQ beating me. (I'm not worried about a set here)

Excellent avatar MrWookie.

Re: I must be doing something wrong here.

-grunch-

Hand 1: Raising is hardly "going nuts". Maybe he just has a king. I definitely call this river, and probably raise. I expect to see Kx a lot here. Hopefully not two pair.

Hand...

Re: Q8s to a raise

-grunch-

I fold this preflop. Calling the raise preflop is fine. I also fold the flop here. May be weak tight, but all you have are two BD draws and a single overcard, which could easily not win...

Re: I can\'t believe I\'m fearing a straight flush.

Bet the turn. 3-bet if raised. I don't understand the turn CR. You probably lost at least one bet from UTG, who might have called one, but not two there.

Call the river.

Re: It worked, but too agg???

Ummm, a turn Jack gives you a made hand, the str8. So yes, raise that turn in that case.

Re: I\'m embarassed to post this.

I think one of my problems is that I tend to characterize a player when they do absolutely stupid things. When I read your first post, and you said the SB was "reasonable" and then said he...

Re: turn donk bets always confuse me.. check this one out

I think it was Bison who posted a long time ago that limping pocket deuces UTG is +EV in most micro-limit games, so I don't see any problem with limping the pocket fives in MP3 here. I also totally...

Not for anything, but your post makes me think you were the button in the hand. Seriously. You complain about the SB playing suited connectors, the guy did everything right (or close to it, and...

Tropicana AC $1-2 game

So I hadn't been to AC in quite a while, and hadn't really been playing too much NL. I've been focusing more on limit, but had hoped that the terrible caliber of players at many B&M rooms would make...

I'd probably ask, "Was your father was an azhole too? Is that's where you learned it? Or maybe watching him beat on your Mom really got to you, huh Sparky?"

I suspect that in many circumstances,...

Hey guys, I haven't been to AC in quite a while but am heading there Friday. Was trying to figure out whether to play at the Borgata or the Taj. Probably lower limit stuff maybe 4-8 or 5-10 limit,...
