Re: Interesting hand: CA B&M Mid-Limit

I don't pretend to be a good card player - enjoy reading posts here and trying to improve my game. Others I'm sure can offer better insight.

It seems awful weak to me to give away a pot of 15-20...

Re: ocean jewel

Glen,
I don't post too often, but when I have recently, it has been in regards to the Ocean Jewel.

I have only been once and didn't get a chance to play poker.
I didn't have any issue with the...

Re: Thanks for the concern Bill, but I\'m OK

If I had a problem, I would continue to patronize the Ocean Jewel - I tried my best, and successfully so I think, to convey that I will never again set foot on the ship!
Unfortunately, there are...

Re: An Open Letter To The Ocean Jewel(Saint Petersburg,FL)-NoPokerContent

I really don't know if it's like that all the time or not. I have to think that it's better on a Wednesday (or whatever day) afternoon when there aren't nearly as many people. But if I'm going to...

Re: An Open Letter To The Ocean Jewel(Saint Petersburg,FL)-NoPokerCont

As far as other places to play - I was thinking more about Biloxi/Carribean/even Vegas. I only play a couple times a year so the $150 weekend junket to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi would be well worth...

An Open Letter To The Ocean Jewel(Saint Petersburg,FL)-NoPokerContent

My apologies to the board if this is anappropriate. As stated in the title, there is no poker content. However, as the Ocean Jewel does offer poker and is mentioned on occasion on this board, I...

I am not a good enough or experienced enough poker player to comment on your concerns...

If other people are like me though, I would imagine you are not getting responses from people that could...

Re: Checking out the Ocean Jewel this Saturday

I was about to head out there last weekend but didn't make it - never been out there, so you'll have to post a report.

I played on some of the other cruises a few years ago - - a bunch of old guys...

Minneapolis / Canterbury - Card Room & Casino Information

I'll be in Minneapolis for the next few days and was hoping I could gather some insight on the best casino/card rooms in the area.

Canterbury seems to be the one I come across most often in my...

Re: Another Party NL $600 hand--played like a girl

"If he is slowplaying AK/AQ/A8/A5, then you set yourself up to win a lot of money."

Looks like that's exactly what he thought he was doing...

Re: AK two pair hand

I agree that I don't see how you can fold this preflop. Unless you're read is that good, you put villain on much too narrow of a range of hands.

I just don't like calling 4 straight bets.
If...

Re: Keeping notes at a table. Why, of what, and how?

I'm a believer that if you're paying, you can do pretty much whatever you want - but keeping notes AT the table strikes me as bad form. Make notes when you're session is over, or take a bathroom...

Re: Depositing Large Sums of Cash

I certainly don't recommend shady dealings/etc, but if you just want to avoid the hassle if anyone should ever question the deposit - why not deposit it in pieces. $1000 here - $3000 there -...

I'm fairly new around here and to poker in general, so I don't mean to be an a**hole - but to posts like the original one in this thread which would be such an amazingly poor decision I can only hope...

I'll be in Phoenix in a couple weeks and hope to get a chance to play while I'm in town.
Would love to hear from anyone that knows the area and different rooms - it looks like Casino Arizona is the...
