Re: Party 55 slow play top set? Curtains? Anyone?

I agree with bmx - this is early in the tourney, and KK is just a pair that needs protection. I have seen UTG raises in the early levels with all kinds of speculative hands, he could easily have JTs...

Re: $109 Bubble hand

Let's try this line of thought - if the BB is the kind of player that would raise you all in after your call, then call. The BB's stack size would indicate that is the case. Your call will look weak...

Re: plo/8 question

I am an O8 novice... but in principle, your call was $21 into an $86 pot - 4 to 1. So, if you think you can scoop 20% of the time, call. If a split was likely, you are still 2 to 1 - so splitting 33%...

Re: 109 Bubble push or fold

at the 109s I seldom get such cooperation from the shorter stack when I am almost as short. this is a great hand to push, and you may get slightly more FE because they know you know you shouldn't be...

Re: How much do I raise AKo in the BB (level 2)

you raise big because of your poor position and the fact that no one has shown strength - I raise the size of the pot plus more, maybe 200 here. In this situation you are happy to fold everyone and...

Re: Queen high flush Comments on all streets appreciated

definitely pot sized bet on the flop, at least.

look at all of the calls on the turn! all of these people think they have the winning hand? at lower buy-ins I maybe push - at the higher buyins I...

Re: Is this weak? $109

what reads did you have to arrive at your fold decision?

in most cases I re-raise, probably all-in. sometimes I find the second raiser had JJ or something like that. and sometimes I lose to KK or...

Re: The all-in blind steal fest... how do I play ?

I believe Sklansky does discuss all-in strategies at length in his tournament book (TPAP) - including the difficulty for good players of defending against weak players using all-in strategies...

Re: Too weak?

First off, you need to mix up your bets - pushing is always an option. Two more things:

1. your chances of running into a monster are very small

2. KTo is a fairly weak hand, and pushing will...

Re: Too weak?

yes.

you need to pick up those blinds when you get chances to.

push, unless you think the BB will fold to a min raise.

Re: 2nd Hand of 15 +1 call this?

absolutely you should be betting the turn.

but since the turn was not bet I would fold to the all-in - your stack is too healthy not to wait for another chance.

of course that is what he may be...

push. push push push.

why do you have that (fairly) big stack if not to push people around with it?

Re: Alright Irie, this one is really an interesting bubble hand

You get one more chance on the next hand. Take it.

T2o is practically 72o. You may do better and can't do much worse.

The above analysis does not apply if you are Doyle Brunson. ...

Re: $109s - JJ Hand

Hero raises to 300 on the flop to prevent seeing a turn with a diamond, or to induce a mistake from the villain.

But we got to the turn... only options I see are fold or push. Since we are at the...

Re: Good Stop and Go?

Cards are inanimate objects, hating them does no good.

You are down to four, you are short, and you have a very good hand, especially with four players. Push. - w

Nothing wrong with limping sometimes to mix up your play, per se - but you gotta hammer the pot when you hit the flop...

Re: KK and lots of preflop action

I like your fold, at the time you folded - at that point you had helped create the bad situation you were now dealing with.

Yeah, maybe AA was out there, maybe not. More likely not. Instead of...

Re: $55 ITM: Defend my blind w/ATo vs bigstack blind stealer?

re-raise all-in - you have a hand.

I don't see him checking the flop so you can stop-n-go.
