Re: all in with made straight and flush draw

I'm going to disagree with the majority sentiment that the PF and flop calls were terrible. If you have players who are going to go all in with two pair when there are straights and flush...

Re: AK out of position against PF min-raiser....

No read whether this is an attempt to steal the blind? I like the idea of re-raising pre-flop to find out where you are. I'm going to guess he has a King and not AA. Why the smallish bet on the turn...

Re: friendliest vegas poker rooms?

This seems to be a constant thread here. If you have on-line poker experience you are way ahead of a lot of people sitting down at the tables these days. Just remember to protect your cards and act...

Re: friendliest vegas poker rooms?

Getting a rack of $1 chips ($100) should be fine, but as someone else says, be ready to buy a little more if you dip below $50 or so. Nothing is worse than getting a good hand and then being all in...

Re: Does cash play on the table in NL?

I think the Bellagio does let money on the table play, like if you have a hundred under your stack. But it can only be Franklins and has to be on the table before the start of the hand.

Re: friendliest vegas poker rooms?

I was just there last weekend and I had a great time at the Excalibur. I was playing with a few buddies of mine with different levels of experience/comfort playing poker. they have 1/3 and 2/6 spread...

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand

Thanks for the feedback.

It turns out either way he wasn't letting go of the hand (he had KJs). Of course I chose to take his raise as an attempt to bully me out instead the obvious message that...

Re: Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand

I hadn't played a hand yet so I was probably around $180. CO had me covered.

Bellagio 2/4 NLHE hand

Hi All,
First time sitting down at the 2/4 NLHE at the Bellagio Sunday night. I've played a couple of orbits when I get TT in the BB. CO makes it $15. I haven't seen the CO play many hands so I...

Re: Where to safeguard cash in Vegas?

I just got back from Bally's and can confirm that they charge $3/night to use the little safe. On the door it says something like "A nominal charge of $3..."

Whatever. I'm too cheap a bastard to...

Re: Deal Calculator

Just downloaded. Looks great. Could explain the fields a little bit and the output?

Stack seems pretty self explanitory. Just enter the size of each remaining player's stack.

What is Prize $?...

Re: A QQ hand

How did the Button get down to T180? Did he take a bad beat or has he been chasing? Did he lose a majority of his stack on the previous hand? Is it possible he's on tilt or just throwing in the towel...

Re: Poker a sport

As the article points out, our common understanding of what makes a game a "sport" is some significant physical component. Clearly Poker doesn't have this.

Re: Ethics of playing with your girlfriend

[ QUOTE ]
Of course, this is a little different than playing with a friend, where you would like to see him do well, but you'll never see the money back that he wins from you.

Re: Ethics of playing with your girlfriend

It's no different than the regulars who play with each other day after day. They're not married (although they probably spend more time together than with their spouses), but they play with each...

Re: What are your favorite lines spoken at the table?

Last time I was in Vegas I carried around a bag of peanuts I got on the plane. I had this scenario scripted in my head but never got the guts to do it.

At Showdown:
Opponent: Whadda ya got?

Re: ORLEANS TOURNEY VS SARHARA AT 7PM???

Is the Orleans Limit or No-limit? How many re-buys? Add-on?

Going to LV this weekend and trying to decide whether to play Sahara or Orleans.

TIA,

Relax. As was said before, protect your hand and act in turn and you'll be fine. There are plenty of people who have played in casinos for years and still act like morons.

Re: Vegas trip report (I dare you to read all this)

Thanks for the report. I'm heading to LV for my bachelor party this weekend. I'm hoping I'll get to play some poker but my Best Man won't tell me what's in store.
