Re: huge pot river donk 50/100

Ignore the trolls: I've made worse plays.

There are perhaps some game-dymanics that make this play work, but they aren't are going to be rare.

I'm sure you know this play is wrong, I suspect...

Re: easy value bet on the end or check to induce bluff? 30 bellagio

Check folding just isn't going to happen here (esp against a lag), which is why I'd advocate betting. Bad river calls are commonplace and are, of sorts, insurance calls, for future hands. I'd rather...

Re: Dead Man Drawing

Given what you know here - oppo no part of a flop, none of your hole cards cards then he is 6 in 45 to improve to a pair, one in every 7.5 trials. I'd also like to run it with a 80% bet on the turn...

Re: vulnerable overpair on a very coordinated board

I should add that SB on AcK discounts with the persistent betting on both streets and the subseqeunt mid-position calls (which wreak of high clubs).

Re: vulnerable overpair on a very coordinated board

The reasons given for raising the turn have been very well made; that said, I've seen myself play it both ways.

With SB's figures of 14/9/1.4, fold on the turn is also a candidate for discussion....

Re: Texas Holdem Hand

This isn't a logical approach at all. You can't simply reverse-engineer to the hands he would play the flop onwards and not weight their preflop-flop probs (assuming you haven't down so).

For...

Re: easy value bet on the end or check to induce bluff? 30 bellagio

I'm not sure that I have a feel for the right play here. If my image was lag enough I'd prlly just keep going on the river.

I would add though, that you can easily 'bet for value' (as perhaps you...

Re: 150/300 hand

I reckon you dismiss bet-call too easily here; either way I don't much differentiate between either bet-call or bet fold, simply because the river raise seems so unlikely here. It's this...

A belated thanks for the kind words guys; I'm planning on re-writing this article adding a little extra on the flatness and sticking it on my blog, which I haven't got up yet - it would be less of a...

Re: AA raise the river?

I might raise by through impulse, but upon inspection this is a call to for me. You've got to be better than 67% here to raise - you're about as likely to fold to his 3 bet as he is to your raise -...

Re: I open 72o UTG get 3bet by tiltboy and call down my bottom pair.

Ignore the idiots. Your question is valid. Some people here need a lesson in logic at no point did you conclude that:

'that the best play is to raise UTG with 72!'

Re: Some 50/100 hands. mostly boring

This seems really close, but it seems like i will not be winning more than 50% when called on my raise.

You likely need to be more than 50% fav to justify a raise (as...

Re: 2 Party hands, Kukavica, Fucngr8t

Unless your known for limp raising his blind with medium hands (J-Q) then I think the call is probably wrong as he will doubtless raise a lot in this spot, especially SH.

The rest of the play is...

Re: 80/160 hand against J.A. Sucker

Ok I've not read every post, but here are some comments:

PF - I'm not a big fan of playing a mixed style in fairly unique situations, where learning is less valuable. So I'd think Id always...

Re: Party Merchandise

Agree, but neither do Party: the affiliates to their skins do. Certainly Party would rather you play directly with them - their FPP points don't encourage you to stay with them imo.

I'm not surprised that Poker Stars are catching up with Party. At times I wonder how Party have become so successful, then it becomes apparent: cynical tactics. Though I wonder how long these...

Re: Probability BrainTeaser (toughie)

The key to the sense of this solution is the redundant wrong-guesses.

Each of the three active players guesses half the time and and of those guesses only half of those are right. Since 3 players...

yes both your assumptions are correct.
I said not lateral, but thats a little unfair. You probably need to go a little lateral then logical.
