Re: Regarding the rake at 6-max...

It should also be noted that this higher rake actually makes 6-max quite pleasurable if you happen to be clearing bonuses as well as playing. This alone might make it more profitable per hour for a...

Re: What percent of onliner poker players are profitable?

About the tax law thing, if you're taking the standard deduction you can't deduct your losses at all? So I guess if you're a serious player though, you'd probably end up taking your losses as your...

Re: I think I go too far with hands, please help me reevaluate my game

Unless otherwise specified, the players were all standard Party 2/4 slightly loose, slightly passive players (25-30 VPIP, between .75 and 1.25 AF)

Re: I think I go too far with hands, please help me reevaluate my game

These were actually all on Party, and all of them had at least one or two complete donks at the table. If there's anything I do right, it's table selection, I think.

I think I go too far with hands, please help me reevaluate my game.

I went to Russia over the summer and so I hadn't played poker for 2 months or so until I got back in July. I tried to go to 3/6 with my BR of about $2100 but hit a 50 BB downswing, figured maybe I...

Could someone help me find a thread?

Hi guys!

About a half year ago maybe, I remember someone starting some sort of big "Let's read Theory of Poker together" thread and there were awesome threads about each chapter with questions...

Fictional botched hand protection, how do you play things like this?

I'm making this up, because I never know how to play hands like this.

Suppose you are at a ten-handed $2/$4 table, and in the big blind. You have JT of diamonds. There are four limpers and then...

Limit hold-em in Moscow?

I'm here in Moscow for the next 6 weeks as part of a study abroad program. I know a years' worth of Russian. That is, a years' worth of classes, not of being here. I'm only 19, so while I play on...

Re: Should I call this one down?

I'm pretty sure he didn't hit a flush. Most people don't know enough to raise a flop with a strong draw like a four-flush, and assuming he has second pair or better, then he must have a non-spade in...

Re: Took a lot of grief - how was my line?

I think it's fine, although to be honest I think most of the time UTG+2 has two pair and then gets scared when you 3-bet. I think that's what a typical party player has/would do. I don't think he...

Re: What Separates The Bigger MTT Winners From The Smaller Ones?

Would you guys also consider variance when deciding moves like these? Like, suppose you're getting a little more than 12.5:1 on your money to call a bet on the turn to see one more card with a...

If you are making it a habit of limping with big offsuit cards, you are going to be playing a lot of pots like this. You'd better play them well.

2 people have checked to a...

Re: Wondering about my aggression

I think betting this hand down all the way (UI) is terrible.

Like I said I'd have to see the people first but at 2/4 you frequently see people that call all the way for...

Re: Wondering about my aggression

Here's my problem: You don't really know where you stand, and probably won't until the end.

Suppose you get called in one or two places, and the card that came comes. Now you might be ahead, but...

Re: Wondering about my aggression

I'm just not sure he has enough equity to put a bet in on the flop. I think you have a stronger chance of chasing people out after a PF raise though so it becomes more correct, so it's probably...

Re: Wondering about my aggression

You're playing 3/6 and don't even have odds to call one bet on the flop. How is he missing a flop bet here?

And yes, the turn bet is fine.
