Re: 20/40 JJ river fold

Bumping this back up. This might not seem interesting or may be a marginal situation where it doesn't matter much what I do. However, I've talked with several well respected posters and the...

20/40 JJ river fold

SB is tighter than the usual 20/40 player and a little less aggressive. Am I ahead to the river lead more than 1/8 of the time here? Talked this over with some 2+2'ers and opinions were split so...

Re: 10 sb preflop questions

why isn't complete an option?

almost all of these are completes for me at a 1 chip 2 chip blind structure (7 and 8 depend on the players involved, sometimes complete sometimes fold).

Re: 30/60 against 2+2er

Not saying I would do this but it would be more of an option if a) the button didn't 3 bet and b) UTG+1 didn't call too much. Given those two things it is very unlikely for UTG to have any 77'ish...

Re: 30/60 against 2+2er

What were you planning to do if button doesn't 3 bet? Same line you took here? I guess I don't see what raising to see if I limp-rr buys you. If you can get in cheap here I think that's best. ...

Re: 30/60 against 2+2er

This hand looks familiar. You should be overlimping KJs to the UTG limp and fold it to the limp-cap there. Although the UTG+1 tard was giving you pretty good odds to chase once you called the cap. ...

A different line and results...

So I was talking through this hand last night and the thought of calling the turn c/r and raising any safe river card came up. This seems like a reasonable line as it loses me the same when I'm...

Re: SO TO YOU I MUST PUT AN END

Schneids,

BB is a good regular at 100/200. Button isn't Bruiser and is more aggro, however BB hasn't played more than a few orbits with him. No showdowns yet so not sure what BB thinks of him at...

Re: 77 meets flop aggression (20-40)

Bunky,

If your read is that he most likely does not have a K or 5 do you see any value to calling BB's flop c/r, raising any non-ace turn and checking the river through?

Re: Don\'t players make moves? Is bluffing non-existant?

Usagi,

One way to think about this that might explain the math better:

If you call you have a 0.47 chance of being +$675 and a 0.53 chance of being -$600 at the end of the hand.

So each call...

Re: Stars 5/10 NL, flop TP + big draw

greywolf,

I was the CO in this hand. My mistake for not making that clear in the initial post.

Re: Stars 5/10 NL, flop TP + big draw

FSU,

I'm glad someone mentioned reraising all-in as an option as I believe that pushing and folding are closer than most people are making them out to be. I do agree that both calling and...

Re: Commerce 10-20 NL JJ hand

A push by Diablo on a turn blank will force him to call 1000 in a 4100 pot or 24.3% of the pot. Assuming that he reads Diablo for a set he will draw out on the river 30.4% of the time. Pushing to...

Re: QQ shorthanded vs. LAG

Good to know my thinking wasn't too off base. I didn't push on the river for meta reasons. I felt if he busted he would pick up and leave and if the table filled back up I wanted him there.

QQ shorthanded vs. LAG

Super weak-tight hand vs. an incredible LAG who would play this way with any PP or 2 big cards. He would bet 1/2 pot until someone showed resistence. Then he would either push or fold.

My plan...

Re: Flopping 3-of-a-kind with no kicker at all

The river check is bad. If you're up against trips they aren't going to take the risk of having the river checked through. You're most likely up against a medium K here. Bet around half the pot on...

Re: My first try at NL

The last thing you want him to do is fold here (unless he'll fold AA but I give CDC more credit than that). If he has any hand other than AA folding would be correct. You want him to put more money...

I agree that the weights should be modified for this case. However, the point of showing an equal weighting of the big pocket pairs was that, even without a read and with Richie's fear of aces,...

Assuming the odds of him holding AA-JJ are equal (which according to Bunky's read they aren't) and ignoring the effect of him having one of your heart outs for simplicity's sake the...

Re: PP NL200- i won a huge pot but did i play this wrong?

Garland,

More good things will happen with the all-in checkraise than with the push.

With a preflop raiser and another caller behind you there is a good chance that one of them has an...
