Re: AK fire twice?

Standard play imo (assuming CO is unknown or fishy). If you have a read that CO is a tight or decent player, then I might be worried about what he'd cold-call 3 bets with.

What do you do if a...

Re: How\'s my line here with 88? (6 max)

Tough hand. Flop & turn bets are ok, imo. Heads up, you probably have the best hand. Against a calling station, keep the aggro up. I would've bet the turn w/ the intention of checking the river,...

Re: Pokerstars

It clears at a reasonable rate for me (at .5/1). Certainly not as fast as Party's, but not as slow as UB. At night I can usually find a few tables with 40-50% seeing the flop, avg pot size $7-$10.

Re: Starting a poker career

I'm only 2/3 thru w/ King Yao's book so maybe I haven't gotten to the good stuff yet, but from what I've read so far I wouldn't recommend it. It's not as good as sshe and doesn't have any additional...

Re: My big leak

With bottom pair, I don't think we have much of a hand to protect on the flop. If we were sitting right behind the penguin, then we could raise to maybe clean up some outs, hopefully knocking out...

I've had roadrunner for about 5 yrs now and have been pretty happy w/ it. I think they have a special for new customers, about $20/month for 12 months (wish I could get that, they should do...

I cleared the last stars bonus at .5/1 limit after about 3500 hands. Not as fast as party, but not too bad either...

disconnect issues on pokerstars?

Has anyone else been getting disconnected frequently on Poker Stars? Trying to figure out if it's them or my ISP or something.

Thanks!

Re: AK .. lost

Unless I have a read that CO is a crazy lag, I call down after his raise on the flop. It's heads-up now and I don't see any point in adding more chips to the pot. I fear AA or a set, the best I can...

Re: Overplayed KK?

hand 1: FOLD THE TURN!!! You're behind pretty much 100% of the time here and you have no outs.

hand 2: Without a read I'm not ready to fold. I would check-raise the flop to get rid of CO. If...

Re: An AQ hand inspired from SS2

I think I can see why you'd want to limp this preflop. Offsuit hands don't do as well in multiway pots so your edge preflop is small. By limping, you're giving up this small edge in exchange for a...

Re: Party Poker

Party has fish, but it ain't the fishiest ever. You don't get 8 people seeing the flop, more like 6. There are fishier places (i.e. Pacific and other casino-driven sites) but Party has more people,...

Re: Aggressive or just stupid?

Call me weak tight but i check/fold the first hand on the flop. 2 overcards, one being the very popular A, 5 opponents, possible flush draws and another T could complete a straight. Chances of you...

Re: UB - how are the games?

i think i have less variance at ub. my earnings graph on ub is steadily uphill, no large swings either way. but on party i've got huge bad runs and huge good runs...

Re: JTo Middle Pair

Preflop call is fine. I'm 50/50 on the flop. The small pot, flush/straight draws, and my so-so kicker make me wanna fold. But the weakness shown by everyone plus my relative position make me wanna...

Re: The old me and the new me (stats post)

I'm at about 16/8 right now. How do you get to 20/12? What hands are you adding? And does playing that way greatly increase your variance?

Re: OESD on the turn

Turn call is fine. You're getting about 1:6 and you've got 8 outs. Even discounting your outs for the flush possiblity, you're still getting enough odds to call.

Re: Scold my KK fold

If you're gonna fold, fold the turn. If you're behind, you've only got 2 outs in a relatively small pot. With no reads, I think I fold the turn. The average player is unlikely to be bluffing here.

Re: confusing AQo hand

Considering the opponents, I might want to take a free card on the turn.

I don't think BB has the K /images/graemlins/spade.gif. A TAG is unlikely to check the flop and check/fold the river with...

Re: Two ways for runner runner, stay for the turn?

You might be getting about 1:13 odds to make your straight or flush BY THE RIVER, but you're NOT getting 1:13 pot odds on the flop. You aren't taking into consideration future bets, particularly the...

Re: 9 handed max vs. full table (low content)

Besides the disadvantage of paying more rake, it seems to me that I can find looser tables at 9 max. Other people have said they're the same, but the times I've played ($1/2) I've been able to find...
