Re: 6-Handed (Max) vs Full games

Hey Kirkk,
Came across this post by fimbulwinter today, it is good for some quick "guidelines" as far as hands and what to do preflop with them in the 6 max game. ...

Re: My first 6-max experience in ssnl (lc)

I just started playing the NL 25 6 max as well and have been pleasantly suprised. Do you know of any good threads concerning how to play 6 max compared to the full ring games?

Re: Raising Preflop in microlimit games

I think there is definitely some truth to this and also how I have recently been playing. I don't really like raising with AQ or AJ unless I have good position, mainly because it isn't a hand you...

Anything to this or just a case of running good?

Hey guys,
I have been playing online now since around march, and have seriously been studying the game since the end of may. I have heard WLLH, Supersystems, as well as TOP and also am on here a...

Re: Giving a friend poker lessons - topics?

I think you should stick with the tight approach to play, specifically preflop because he is just starting out, give him a set of good starting hands from positions. (Jones WLLH has a great section...

Re: Crazy Eights

I am pretty sure I would have made the same call as you in this position, although in the end not sure if we had the best hand. The fact that two people are all in with you makes me think you might...

Re: Too passive with KK?

I think that you didn't necessarily play the hand badly, but that you just didn't get any information as to what villian has. I would be tempted to put in a raise on the flop, or atleast a 2/3rds...

Re: Big pot out of position with TPTK-- any other way to play it?

This looks good, and also I agree with you in your thinking about calling the river bet based on size, your feeling and reads. Tough playing these hands out of position. Hope it worked out.

Re: Learning to be more aggressive (little content)

Looks very good to me, good raise on the flop, don't want to slow play this with possible flush, good lead out on the turn and push on the river.

I am on pokerstars as well, same 0.05/0.10 tables,...

Re: Building a NL bankroll.

I am still grinding it out right now, a couple sites have some good bonuses (InterPoker 90 for 90, and Carribean sun gives 40 dollar signup bonus), but it takes a while to clear both at the lower...

Re: 78s on the button

I like the raise from position with this hand preflop, I am not sure if I would have made it that big, but I still like the play. Flop hit you pretty good, and I would be temepted to raise his bet...

Re: PP25NL, I Am So Weak

Pot the flop, the more expensive you make it for the flush draws the better, especially since you have the A of hearts. The rest of the hand is very weird, and I think I would be inclined to slow...

Re: Not getting enough value

I like both of these hands and how you played them. Hand one I might be tempted to smooth call his flop raise and then try to reraise him on the turn, hoping he leads out again. Hand number two I...

Re: Huge draw on flop

I like this as well, but I don't see myself making that reraise on the flop with my draw and I think I would just call there. Just out of curiousity is the purpose of your reraise to get the free...

Re: A/J unsuite - raise, call, throw it away

I only like to play AJo in late position and generally I will put in a raise to try and steal the pot right there. I don't like cold calling raises with it in any position, and will occassionally...

Re: How do you play big hands out of position?

Looks pretty standard to me, although I have trouble with these as well. On the flop or turn I may go for a check raise here, but a lot of times I won't get any action when I do that. Also you risk...

Re: Slow-played set - could I have made more?

I think you got the most out of the hand that you could of, I don't think he would have made a bet at the pot on the river so I don't think the check raise line would have worked and like how you bet...

Re: bottom two flush poppage

I like the check raise line here, unfortunately villian stayed with it. The turn bet is good because I think it gives you some information as to what you are up against without costing you too much...

Re: Common overpair situation

It would be my tendency to push this turn, with no Ace on the board, I think at this point you have the best hand. I can't put him on 99, he may have A9s, or possibly 109, but I think the only way...

Re: 1/2 NL Hand with KK

Good discipline with the check. Just curious how many bets and how much money you would call down with your KK hand, or would you fold to a bet here on the flop?

Re: A BB Special: Like it or hate it?

I don't like it. I am folding this if not preflop, then definitely to a reraise on the flop. Hope it worked out and your ace was good, but if you don't hit that ace, I think you are just giving...

Re: 99 with position hand

I am dropping this after the flop, lots of aggression and no reads on the player or what he could have as a hand. Calling the flop and turn doesn't give you any information, with two over cards on...

Re: Free Showdown or Small Value Bet?

I like the free showdown here as well, too many possibilities out there and not a lot of reads as to the hand he could have.

Re: Pocket 10\'s

Call, from the preflop play I don't think he has a higher pkt pair than you, unless he is trying to be sneaky, he most likely has a strong ace, get your money in while you are ahead.
