Re: A play that i am seeing a lot at the lower levels that is retarded

If by setting a trap you mean limping in when blinds are really high and then calling an all-in, they typically aren't intending to set a trap. They just always limp in and then call off their whole...

Re: I told my dad I won $200 in a MTT today, and he yelled at me.

Sounds like you're out of luck. I had a similar situation, so I decided to not try to convince my dad to let me play, and just played when he was sleeping or wasn't around. Now that I graduated...

Re: $11\'s What does villain have?

It doesn't really matter what villain has, since you should not call this flop in my opinion. You don't have pot odds for your gutshot and I doubt you have much in the way of implied odds since the...

Re: TT big enough overpair to back with all your chips?

At level 1 and 2 I just prefer playing for set value. At $10's and $20's it's often too hard to limit the field especially after a few limpers and you get put in tough spots where you lose a large...

Re: somebody please give me a clue

You have to really convince people at the 11's to fold and minraising gives them a reason to play whatever crap they have.

This is an easy push especially since any other raise is such a huge...

^^ easy 3bet on the turn

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not so sure against a loose passive, especially on that board. Of course I was completely wrong in this spot so you're most likely right. I...

Re: First post - gotta be a bad beat

I never thought I'd be the kind of guy to post my bad beat in someone else's whine thread (espcially since I have a grand total of 4 posts), but tonight I finally lost my REAL bad beat virginity.

...

Re: $55: Should I have bluffed all-in on paired board on lvl4?

I don't think this is really a bluff since you probably have the best hand anyway. You most likely won't be getting a better hand to fold. A bet seems necessary on this flop but I don't think it...

Re: My Move?

BB only has 255 after posting right? If I have that right, fold this since you will get called no matter what and your hand is worse than a random one (I think?). Even with the dead money from SB...

Re: Too Tight?

Easy call I think, especially closing the action. You're getting more than 4:1 and I think it's almost impossible to be behind SB.

Re: I\'m so sick of going broke like this..

Thanks for all the advice, I admit I've just been autopiloting through these 4 tabling and doing well, but if I just stopped and looked back for a second I could avoid a few of these catastrophes.

Re: I\'m so sick of going broke like this..

What happens if I "smoothcall" (did I make flat call up and sound stupid?) and sneaky min raiser pushes? By now you can probably guess he had AA, and this is how I've been busting out in the first...

Re: middle pair aggression

I don't think there's any reason to get involved in the pot at all. It's tiny, you're out of position, and you have very little idea where you stand.

I think it's a check-fold on either the flop...
