Re: AJo......Stage 1 of play along

[ QUOTE ]
Now in order for that to have/be of VALUE, this figure (.8BB) must exceed the value of raising the flop.
If we estimate 40% equity for Hero on the flop, he only has to be called in two...

Hyperd,

But how will the EV calculations change if you call and C/R the turn as a bluff?

I didn't do that calculation, but I would think it would be less...

Punishing Autopilot TAGs

So, recently I was able to test something that I have been thinking about a bit. The situation occurs when you are heads up and out of position against a TAG. I started writing down a bunch of EV...

Re: Hand Reading Against an Unknown

It's fine. Probably borderline at 5/10. I would do it for sure with a 1/2 blind structure but not a 1/3. Either way it's EV is going to be close to 0.

As for the hand, your thinking is the same...

Re: some mistakes and lots of math (long)

Something that I had written in my long post which I forgot to add is that we will sometimes have odds to call again on the turn. It gets pretty complicated then but since we've been taking safe...

I really don't think our FE is good enough on this board to do that and there's pretty much no other reason to do...

Re: I felt dirty...yet good

If we had a stronger hand than AJs with a BDFD I could see continuing, but as it is I just don't see the point when we're so rarely going to improve enough to beat a big hand, and even...

But it doesn't change the fact that you are not going to see that 21% share of the pots because you use your fold button and they don't. So unless some other factor is operating to make...

Re: I felt dirty...yet good

That and the fact that it is an UTG LRR makes me more inclined to believe it, but I still expect garbage at least 1/3 of the time.

But seriously, this is almost always a big hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

No way. Not from someone with a VPIP of 50.

Re: What is the standard play with 99 in small blind?

Again, these things really depend on the player and the board texture.

In general though, most of the time I will be continuation betting. Sure, villain is getting 8:1 and should be calling if...

Re: What is the standard play with 99 in small blind?

It depends on the villain, but usually I raise.

I don't want BB coming along unless he's doing it incorrectly so we give him bad odds by reraising preflop. If we just call he's getting tremendous...

Folding here would be a substantial mistake in my opinion.

Re: Not raising with KK on good flop

For everyone that says raise the flop like it is a no brainer, I think you should look up SSHE "when the pot is extremely large". There are differences but the SSHE example is not much...

I can't remember who it was, but somebody used to talk about this concept quite a bit (I think maybe Joe Tall?).

Just remembered it was Josh. (sthief09).

Meh. Probably check/call for the reason you said and also because I think we are behind a lot. I might fold if UTG bet and Button raised. What should we put a TAG button on here? AQ, KQ, and QJ I...

Re: 2/4 - I think I only got the flop right on this one.

I called PF figuring to try and flop a set, the odds arent there though, and I think reraise or fold is more in order.

I wouldn't consider 0.9 especially passive having a vpip of 43.

Re: KJo - what do you think of this line?

You make it sound like getting raised by CO would be a good thing. That would suck.

Also, you say we bet so KT dosn't check through, but then you say KT is value raising if we bet.

Re: 5/10: Weird hand I iso raise QT hit an iffy river

With only 18 hands on villain I'd call in this spot. Even if he really is passive he could still be betting with 88 or 99. I want a better read before I fold. I expect to lose a lot though.

Re: 5/10: Flop semi-bluff CR

I like. Good semibluff spot as long as you bet the turn too.

One added benefit of doing this is that your checkraises with legit hands might get more action if anybody pays attention.
