Re: Math Degrees and Careers

I'd add in actuary.
Which I would look into. One of my best friends is one. He and I are probably the two best math people I know...well, since high school, but they were all geniuses.
I wish I had...

Re: B&M - 1st Hand Push - What are your ranges here?

pretty bad structure, AA-QQ I call with. If a better structure may even fold QQ.
I am mucking AK here.

Re: Flush Draw + Overs in 15k rebuy after rebuy period

Re: Flop nut straight...played right?

all i was talking about was your comment about the turn card, not the river card.
the only cards that can beat you on the turn is when the board pairs or somebody hits a gutshot (but not very likely...

Re: Flop nut straight...played right?

really very dangerous?
it is a great card as it makes a straight for an A and for a 6.
Would i prefer a rainbow 2..sure. but nearly 3/4s of the cards on the turn is going to be second to a suit. so...

I would have bet more on the turn, but I go into check call mode here.

Re: 400nl AK turn decision vs. deep opponent

I just flat call here. He doesn't sound the type to make a real bluff at it twice.
You said you don't want to fold, and also don't want to get too much in there, which makes sense with the stack...

mini-faq stickied..why?

all it says is don't post bad beats..which i agree with.
but does this need to be the first thing shown and stickied? it adds little value since it really isn't an faq.

i really don't see why...

Re: flop a set, how to extract?

terrible...and that is why your response is different that everybody else's.

there are three big draws out there on that flop, both flush and two-openendeds (JT/87).

This is a flop you have to...

Re: Size Does Matter

i'm not letting him draw to his card for free. i don't have a made hand.
if you call that doesn't mean he'll put anything else into the pot, unless he hits.
plus there will already be a lot in the...

Re: Size Does Matter

I'm raising it to 4K.
I put him on JT, KJ or maybe a medium pair.
I am afraid of 54..but what can you do.

Re: flop a set, how to extract?

i agree i prefer it if it is rainbow.
but online a ton, not all, players would only raise in the first place if they also had an overcard, and then if they did would then push it allin thinking they...

Re: flop a set, how to extract?

i check this turn. i put him on a Q, and not a huge hand, and not a draw. So i'll give him a chance to hit his card as the A has likely killed my action.

Re: Interesting hand from the Bellagio 2k tournament

I muck to the first raise, as you said, too many people behind you. AQ i would reraise.

I think you are pretty well potcommitted here to the second raise.

Re: Worst WSOP Final Table Ever

Cunningham had been at least one WPT final table, he was known before this year. better known than Arieh was going into last year.

Re: Worst WSOP Final Table Ever

very good point on al kruk..that was a big miss by me.

arieh was not a big name. he definitely was known by some top players.

Re: Worst WSOP Final Table Ever

I'd have to disagree on 2002. Rosenbloom, Gardner and Shipley are all top players.
I don't know that 2004 was any better. You only really had one name player going in..Harrington.

Re: player last to act against allin states his hand, should it be killed?

interesting.
i agree on the fbomb rule..and felt bad for even asking if his hand was dead.
so told him i'd delay some, which i did.

so if you don't close out all action, that is when your hand...

player last to act against allin states his hand, should it be killed?

I played in the $225 NLHE buyin circuit event at Bally's going on during the main event and took 6th, which was cool, especially as my name is listed in pokerpages again.

but interesting thing...
