I also think you need to push here and take the shot at tripling up. Hopefully the other 2 players are sharing a card(if not 2). With < 10BB and 6 away from a money jump this is a good spot.

I was up there last weekend and the floor manager said they had just hired a tournament director from the Tahoe area and that they will be setting up tournaments and jackpots in a couple of weeks.

I think this is a fine play. You have ~8BB and there are 8BB on the table. If you take it right there you've doubled up and if you're called you have a chance to triple up.
