Blind Stealing and Perception

Scenario: Local B&M Cigar Club that I was invited to by a friend. STT for like 30 bucks. Not a card player in the place. Just guys messing around for fun. So we can assume that the thought...

The Effective Bigstack?

We've all been there... you're the big stack or the second biggest stack and we're on the bubble. It gets down to that point where there are people with stacks low enough that we can almost call...

Re: i\'m not fragile..

Ok but what about chip stack and blind level. Would you have pushed this hand pre-flop or folded it?

Re: HoH1(p323): You flop 2 pair and Harrington suggests you bet pot?! WHY?

[ QUOTE ]
Do you habitually make a continuation bet with 5 players seeing a flop?

With 5 players, there's a good chance that there's at least one Ax out there and that it will call, especially...

Re: HoH1(p323): You flop 2 pair and Harrington suggests you bet pot?! WHY?

Maybe it's just me, but when I flop two pair in early blinds I prefer to just take the pot down. Especially after a successful pre-flop raise where I juiced up the pot a bit. If you bet the pot,...

Re: How badly did I misplay this set?

[ QUOTE ]
I think folding this pre-flop is weak tight. First of all, the odds you are getting (200 into 450) are better than 2-1. Good enough to see a flop I think.

I disagree....

Re: Idiot proof AK from EP (level 1 or 2)

I think your line is interesting and effective in some contexts where the table texture is right. Personally though, I'm almost never all-in w/ AK in levels 1, 2 or even 3. This is because (while...

Re: How badly did I misplay this set?

I would have folded pre-flop probably. You're not in good position for low pairs. But if I had stayed with it I would have bet ~450 on the turn probably. That probably would have failed anyways...

Re: Teaching a SNG \"class.\" How do these topics look?

Maybe you have a gift for teaching but I'd venture to say that HOH or hold'em for advanced players has a good chronology for a class on this stuff; at least as far as the basics goes. I would just...

Re: wuts ur longest cash streak..........and my 1st thread....yay!!!!!

Actually, the chance of hitting a streak grows with the number of tables you play at once (assuming that you do not start another table until your set of games is done). This is because if you are...

Re: Should i lay down AKs here?

UTG+1 is playing tight and he doesn't need this pot. Not only does UTG probably have you beat, AK is not friendly in this multiway pot IMO. It is almost guaranteed that someone has pocket pair...
