I might check behind on this river, but I'm not sure about that (I'd rely on his timing and tells) and wouldn't get to it this way.

Re: Could I have gotten away from this hand?

Yeah you can get away from this hand. Fold preflop.

Re: Is poker good for you?

I spent a lot of time over the last 5 years working, working hard.

There were many weeks where I put in 7 days, 12+ hours a day doing what I feel now is mindless work.

It got to a point where...

Re: Not built for poker...

Only time will tell man.

I came to the conclusion awhile back that maybe I'm not a "winning poker player."

So I really started to look at my game from the perspective that I would have to come...

Re: Rake and playing limit (no strategy, just observation)

Yeah the rake is something more people should really consider when playing the lower limit games.

Re: How to break off with old high school friends?

Start talking poker, and I don't mean exciting stuff. Fill the stories with nothing but your analysis of pot odds, implied odds etc.

For example:
I was UTG+1 and I raised with A/Q suited, it was...

Re: is this legal to do?

As in poker the answer is always..."IT DEPENDS"

Tournament: The TDA rules are pretty specific, if you expose your hand it's dead.

Cash game: IT DEPENDS.

If there is action still pending,...

If you are "happy with your play" and are losing this badly you need to retire. Sriously, I am not kidding. You have a large sample and are clearly a losing player. Stop now or pay someone...

Re: 55 ragged flop, big pot

I would put in a single bet, maybe get rid of A/Xs, pocket 6's etc.
But I'm done by the turn if anyone shows strength on the turn or if anymore face cards come out.

Hopefully you get a free card...

Re: Difference between live and internet players....

Re: why WSOP main event only 10K?

My take on the situation.

More focus should be on the player of the year, the person who wins the most points playing a variety of tournaments.
This person in my opinion is the most well rounded...
