Re: $100NL 1/2 cardroom SUPER LAG

I get pretty bored playing this way but the big payoffs compensate for the lack of action.

Hours of boredom followed by minutes of intensity.

Re: $100NL 1/2 cardroom SUPER LAG

I tend to play the same (really tight) with a bunch of these guys. I know they will pay me off when I do get a hand so I will wait until then. I get pretty bored playing this way but the big...

Re: 77 - Did I Play This Correctly?

Villain had 44. I won the pot but I'm still not sure about the turn. If villain had a deep stack, I would have probably folded to that raise. Should I be thinking in these terms or do I need to...

Re: 77 - Did I Play This Correctly?

I agree on the probe, not much information is gleaned but in this case I got lucky with MP2 folding.

The turn, I'm not sure. Could you give me your reasoning behind folding? Am I not giving...

Dealing with Extreme LAG Player

I'm still getting my feet wet playing no-limit, having recently converted from limit. Yesterday I ran into a table with a texture I hadn't experienced before. I sat down at a table and after 67...

Re: TT - Did I Play This Right?

Doesn't UTG have $17.95 left? Thanks for the input guys; UTG had pocket 3s. I realize this isn't the greatest of content but it was a hand that was bugging me.

TT - Did I Play This Right?

UTG is a semi-loose passive\passive. My image at the table is pretty loose and aggressive, stealing lots of small pots. My VPIP at the time was around 35% about an hour in, raising about 20% of the...

Re: HUGE flop

A lot is based on the read. The guy is a thief, he likes to bluff, I'm going to let him bluff and maybe he'll even catch up on the way.

This came up the other night, I had AQ and threw a standard...

Re: HUGE flop

If the guy is that aggressive, I'd check it. If he bets, I'd probably smooth call and allow him to get a card that hopefully improves him. I want this guy to bluff his chips off (I'm assuming that...

Re: QQ $2/$5 live hand

I would have raised on the flop to $225, you more than likely have the best hand at that point and that might have slowed the villain down.

Re: How can I win this hand? Should I even try?

Does the villain call down a lot of hands, even in the face of large bets? What kind of hands does he call down with? Have you seen the villain pushed off a hand after he called a large flop bet? ...

Re: Standard Fold RIght?

With no reads, I fold. I need to know something about my opponents here before I go to battle with TPTK after a bet and a raise.

Re: Rough double suckout or bad push PF?

Does the player on the button re-raise often? How does he play from that position? Is the BB a tight player?

I'd fold. The chance of a pair or two overcards similar to your own being out there...

Re: AQo - 20+2 - PS - 180 players

"If you're thinking of entering a pot that has already been opened, you need a stronger hand to call than you would need to open the pot yourself from that position."

Re: AQo - 20+2 - PS - 180 players

After reading this, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the gap concept apply here making this an easy fold?

Re: Short Stacked - All In Correct Here?

I understand what you are saying and I think I should have pushed all-in on the flop. My plan pre-flop was to call, and if the flop didn't hit to fold, otherwise I was going to push everything in. ...

Short Stacked - All In Correct Here?

PokerStars $5+$1, around 400 people out of 1385 left. Average stack for the tourney at this point is around 5500 chips, blinds are about to go up in 4 minutes (currently 100/200). I think the...

Re: KQs in the BB

I disagree. Nobody indicated a premium hand pre-flop so I don't see a problem with the 3-bet against SB who will raise with anything.

Raising the flop isn't nuts, we don't think anyone has the...

Re: When would you consider folding this?

I tend to raise this pre-flop.

I would have 3-bet the flop. No chance in hell I'm folding this.

Re: KQs in the BB

PF: Nothing wrong here, if SB is the nut you say he is.

Post-Flop: Raise, you probably have the best hand. Is this one of those types that will 3-bet/cap with crap? If this is true and it is...

Re: care to help out?

PF: Fine.

Flop: Fine, I think the raise is your only shot at protecting this marginal hand.

Turn: Fine, The checks are good, I bet here as well.

River: Fine, I figure I'm ahead, I...
