Re: Big pot with TPTK

[/ QUOTE ]Another option with these stack sizes is to checkraise all-in on the turn, although I don't know if typical players in this game are aggressive enough to make this your best move.

Re: Pete \"The Beat\" comes over the top of me..now what?

The Beat is a huge LAG. From what I have seen, he could do this with an OESD to a one-pair hand as bad as J9. I believe you are well ahead of his range and would call.

Re: More flack from the roomate

[ QUOTE ]
He keeps advocating a raise to 550-600 so that if an A or K comes I can get away with it.

Haven't hit him yet.

Does he always advocate raising 2.5-3 x BB with middle...

Re: Men Nguyen makes the best/worst fold ever at the 2003 WSOP ME

I've read that David Grey is known as one of the tightest, ABC players in the high-stakes poker world. This could certianly narrow down his 3-betting range preflop (but probably not only to KK and...

Re: This one didn\'t feel right...

I completely agree that you cannot check this flop. Any continuation bet villain makes commits him if you check/raise allin. However, I think pushing makes it seem like you want villain to fold b/c...

Re: 2 hands vs. tricky LAG $1bb $200NL

I agree with what has been said about hand 2. On hand 1, if villain can get away from an overpair, I would probably call the flop raise, and then raise all in on the turn. You cannot reraise on...

Re: is betting in these situations bad?

[ QUOTE ]
Yes i don't understand why anybody want to bet at this flop. Betting on the turn seems like the line i would normally take. What do you think about check-calling the river?

Re: KK : did I chose the right line??

Checking the turn is goot.

[ QUOTE ]
My continuation bets are closer to half pot than full pot -- unless the board is drawy.

Re: Did I get slowrolled here?

No slowroll here. He was probably just making it seem like he had a hard decision (though he did put 2/3 of his stack before the river so not that hard). He would have slowrolled you had you set...

Re: I don\'t suppose i could fold this? $100NL

Against an unknown at $100 NL at PS, instant call versus a button 3 bet all-in preflop. A couple of days ago I was in a similar situation where I had KK.....villain tabled AJo. Tough break sir.

Re: Stan Goldstein and the Kamikazee Kid

If I remember correctly, I think Hon Le was getting somewhere around 3-to-1 on the call. He probably would have called whether or not Stan spoke.

Re: Post Flop - river call?

[ QUOTE ]
jd2b2006,

I don't think folding is bad here. But try and go through a thought process. What range of hands would you put villain on? Then think about how villain would play this hand...

Re: Post Flop - river call?

This is extremely read dependent. How did villain go from 1000 to 355? Barring no reads, villain could have just about any two here, but most likely has a decent hand since they limped with 13 BB's...

Re: Easy river value bet?

Durron,

Weird line villain took by betting the minimum on the flop, calling the raise, leading the turn for such a small amount, calling another substantial raise, and then checking the river. I...

Re: AK Post flop

With no reads, I think you played it fine. The hands villain most likely holds is either a weaker K, 44, or 77. If you bet out on the river, each of these hands is likely to raise you. By...

Re: PS $22 - 1st hand: call off all of my chips on the river?

[ QUOTE ]
A couple questions:

What did you put him on after he called your flop and turn bet?
Is A9 that unlikely a hand for YOU to have?

Re: sit-n-gos -- can you make money?

As a sporadic poster on the STT forum, I can tell you it would be very difficult to sustain a 25% win rate at the $22s because of variance. The indicator most SNGers use to determine how well they...

Re: Different line against 2+2er stars $100

Generally with QQ in MP after a raise and call, I would reraise to 270-300 here to narrow down UTG's hand. As the hand played out, the call on the flop is okay as you are most likely way ahead or...

Re: Double Shoot out Bust out Hand for Analysis

I think checking-calling the turn has a lot of merit here. It looks like you giving up on a miss, so villain might try to pick up the pot with hands you beat, and it saves you money when...

Re: Near Bubble Satellite Play

teamdonkey,

A whole table would likely get DQ'ed if they all agreed to stall so everyone can get a seat. If only one person is stalling, the whole table will not get penalized.

This is impressive:

Hand 62

Brandon makes it 40K, Romain calls, Alex folds.
Flop: J28
Romiain bets 60,000. Brandon...
