Re: Most profitable hand?

Proud to give the only serious response to this thread!!

My most profitable hand after 1000 $55+5 Stars turbos is:

AKo with +165,873 after 423 deals
AA had +130,255 after 201 deals (least of...

Re: 55: 1st hand of tourney, I fold AKo to 4.5BB raise

I like the fold. I would argue the advantage of our position is very small against his range of hands.

The so-called "implied odds" of hitting TP are terrible as well. If he's a multi-tabling...

Re: All-in hand rankings for short stacks

[ QUOTE ]
Pushing for 15xBB without ante from 6th position with AJ or 33 is EV+.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is misleading. Since AJ and 33 are likely to be the best hands with 4 people remaining to act,...

[ QUOTE ]
Where does this come from? It hasn't been proved beyond doubt that your probability of winning is exactly equal to your stack size as a proportion of the chips in play, has it? That's been...

Re: $15+1 turbo - AKo vs raise and call

AK is the workhorse of tourneys because of the power of fold equity pre flop in situations like these (and because you are dealt AK more than twice as often as a specific pair).

If you use...

Re: 109: early AK hand

Nice post, I think this hand encompasses a lot of the difficulties with AK nicely.

One line I like is to keep it simple and bet the flop strongly. The small re-raise out of position preflop could...

Re: How Much Do You Guys Make at the $55 SnG\'s?

Bear in mind these are PokerStars results from their $55+$5 turbos. I've mostly 6-tabled continuously (recently doing 8 with second monitor now), since playing in sets doesn't make too much sense at...

WOW, I am kinda surprised with people's responses here, especially insinuating it's weak tight to fold...?

I think what people are realizing is that the crux of the problem is your read on...

Re: PokerStars and Rakeback

It'd be nice if there was a method to simply exchange FPPs for real money. Generally, you get 5 FPPs per $1 in tournament entry fees. Their bonuses are generally setup so you have to earn 5x the...

Re: PokerStars: 8 Tabling now permitted

You could 8 table tournaments (and maybe more?) before now at least. I guess this applies to ring games /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: $55 with Aces

I think part of the problem is the line OP took actually. Whenever you plan on calling a bet simply hoping villain slows down on the river, something went wrong in my opinion. I probably do it a...

Re: $55 with Aces

I basically freeze from the moment I see the flop. Maybe you're against a lone Q, but otherwise all hands are folding or trapping, unless you have certain people labelled as donks... And even if you...

Re: 109 Hand , Fold AK 5 handed

I probably push.

If both were over 10 bb's I might consider folding. That's mainly because the odds of AK vs AK vs pair start to go up, as well as the likelihood of someone having AA/KK. In this...

Re: Pokerstars differences between 16,27 & 60 dollar turbos

I played just shy of 1000 $27's over the summer and did about 550 $60's in September... but I'm still not sure I can give a good answer.

Probably the #1 difference is that you won't get as many...

Well anyway, I guess I hinted at it already, but I decided to push. It was a snap decision, and I posted this to see if I might be convinced otherwise... After thinking about it more I still agree...

Re: ($55) 3 way, steep blinds, weird spot

What if you were guaranteed that if you pushed, the BB would fold and the button would call? You would have a chance to win a 4398 chip pot by only investing 1324 more chips. About 7:3 pot odds......

($55) 3 way, steep blinds, weird spot

This sng took awhile so the blinds are mighty steep. Multi tabling, so no reads... I've never posted a thread before and this seemed like an awkward situation.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em...

Re: $55: Flaw in my thinking? (Pushing Top 67% at Lvl4 when not desparate)

All that triggered with me was "stay tight till 3 BB." That doesn't sound too thrilling.

I think you should really work on finding a hand to push before your FE essentially drops to nil. ...

Re: PokerTracker now gets tourney info from the HH files

Awww this would've been a much more convenient feature for PokerStars. You have to separately request the summaries through email... Annoying enough I just keep track of my finishes manually.

Re: PS $27t JJ preflop call fold or push

I probably call after utg limp... But if I raised like you did and got re-raised, I would fold. You cannot call in hopes for a set, but if you really put the guy on AK then you can take a look and...

Re: $33 - get cute on bubble with KK?

I agree with you that people that call a min raise don't necessarily call a push. The same mistakes some players make not calling with pot odds that help us out every so often can actually hurt us...

Re: ($27) Top ten losingest hands

Just my brief thoughts:

#2 and #4 are folds pre flop for me
#5 is okay but I might try to call and push flop if it looks friendly
#8 push pre flop or check/fold flop depending on opponent
