Re: Two differences of opinion

First hand is a routine fold, unless your bored and want to try to triple up. Pushing here gives both players a good reason to stick around.

2nd hand is a push. You just don't have enough chips to...

Re: Handling 10 10 early.....help

Easy fold. You made a big mistake by raising that amount, which gives them no reason to fold. What was your reason for that raise?

The thing to do is to realize you are OOP, call, and see what the...

Re: Is Mankind Smart Enough?

I had a million "Yeah, buts...", but only time will tell. 100 years ago they would have never seen us where we're at now.

As long as the distractions don't capture 100% of our progeny, there will...

Re: Is Mankind Smart Enough?

We've only been asking questions for a few thousand years, and (I think) we've come a long way. We don't know how long the road is. We still don't really know what the important questions are.

Re: Is Mankind Smart Enough?

I said yes, I can't see how it won't happen at some point in the future. Every few generations adds something significant to the general knowledge pool. I doubt humnan nature will allow for everyone...

Re: lost with TPTK

I've learned that when I'm playing my hand straight and it's semi-strong but the board isn't cooperating, to give the villain credit for what he's representing. Trust your gut.

Re: late in multi..how long do you wait

Yeah, Aces are golden shorthanded. I believe it's 78% for another ace to be dealt when you have an Ace 10-handed, so 5 handed, fold no ace.

Re: River bet with AA?

Yeah, I'm humbled by the top card pairing after the CC on the flop. I'd check the turn just to see what he does on the river. Stack sizes going in mean a lot, and they limit the options. Villain...

Re: late in multi..how long do you wait

I think you rushed in. You're ignoring the hands between this one and the button where you have 6600 (and the free hands afterwards).

"M" is a term I wish I saw less, I don't think it's helpful...

Re: KQs UTG Early

All of the above. Mostly fold, sometimes limp, sometimes raise.

Re: River bet with AA?

Since this is early, I'm guessing you each have about 700ish left? If so, check behind unless you can call an all-in. The pots nice when its yours or you have something left if he was fishing for a...

Re: WMDs and Bush - Lie or mistake?

Actually, it's very different. It would be similar if we had provided Stalin with technology and resources, he fought Hitler, and we just hoped that he won. Supporting Hussein was always wrong.

Re: WMDs and Bush - Lie or mistake?

I voted lie based on hearing Colin Powell's presentation of the evidence. I can't remember all the details, but I heard it on NPR. I really respect him. I could tell his heart wasn't in it when he...

Re: Proof that NotReady is wrong.

Am I the only one who thinks we need to lay off Not Ready? He's stated his position clearly, and he handles himself well in discussions.

I object to the recent crop of Not Ready-bashing threads.

Re: Why U.S. troops deserve to get blown to bits

I'll be very interested in what goes down in Cuba IF Castro ever dies. And I agree that Saddam was definitely "Mr. Right Now" guy and hope if nothing else is gained, at least the despots will...

Re: Why U.S. troops deserve to get blown to bits

So who's next? Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Somalia again, Libya, Saudi Arabia, China, Iran? Who wins the "US-will-provide-your-freedom-under-false-pretenses" lottery? Can we still use 9/11 as the...

For that matter, the US military is not America. You're right. You don't train pit bulls and kennel them in a daycare. You're argument is against military personnel policing civilians, and it's a...

Re: Why U.S. troops deserve to get blown to bits

If having your ill-gotten gains destroyed as opposed to having your hands chopped off or just being shot outright can create terrorists? If that's possible, as you suggest, then what won't create...

Re: Why U.S. troops deserve to get blown to bits

The perpetrators kept their lives and their hands. You do get a point for the obvious, soldiers make bad cops.

If that convinces one of those clowns to a commit suicide bombing, that's an argument...

Re: Play a Hand With the Masters #2 Turn

I'm unable to reduce his range significantly. Whatever he's trying to tell me by taking the lead, my hand is still best way too often.

Had this been 5-way PF, this would be a tough decision, but...
