Re: poker play during finals week????

I uninstall my poker software from my computer during finals week. There's nothing more depressing than having a losing session when you were supposed to be studying.

Help me transition from NL....

Ok, I am a mid-stakes NL player (1/2-3/6) and I play full tables. I am trying to broaden my game and have recently started playing shorthanded limit. I've started out at 2/4 and 3/6 and am properly...

Re: $200nl - Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

3 bet the flop. Lots of scary cards on the turn can come out, and this flop easily gives villian a second best hand he could give you a lot of action with.

As is, call river. He could very well...

Re: Is pro poker right for me? [LONG]

Go for it. I'm about 6 months into your exact plan and I'm very pleased. I graduated in the spring pre-med and delayed applying to graduate schools. I play poker as my only income and wasn't...

Re: set on a supa-coordinated flop, deep

Given read on villian, I have no problem getting it all-in on the river in hand #1, on hand #2 I agree with how you played it, I definitley raise here with stacks this deep. You have the nuts, looks...

folding is not an option

[/ QUOTE ]

Folding is definitely an option, one that should be considered here. Whether you fold or call depends on how you play the flop. What are you...

Re: button vs blind I\'m torn

If villian is tight as you say, I think I fold this. I can't figure out how he possibly got there, but it looks to me like he stayed in on some sort of draw and backdoored a flush. Hmmm, maybe he...

Re: Flopped a boat in live game. What\'s the best flop line?

I like a little less than a PSB on the flop here. You're going to get the same action from aces I think, the only difference is that if you leave yourself enough a PP might try to bluff you off your...

Re: a very important 1/2 hand from Vegas last week - did I blow this?.

If you want to fold to a raise, bet the turn and do it there. As played, I call. Sounds to me like this guy would have bet the turn had he made a lower flush, I'm guessing he backed into some two...

Re: Made my hand, fold again?

PF and flop are fine, although I think I prefer a raise PF in position.

Fold turn. There aren't many river cards you can like, and villian has taken initiative. He's pricing you out of your draw...

Re: 3/6 QQ 3 handed vs wild one

Fold flop. Wait for a better spot, this flop is just terrible for you. River push looks like a missed draw, I'd expect this villian to look you up with as little as a pair of aces, so I'd only make...

Re: 1/2 nl live QQ feeling pressure

Unless he calls here with king high I don't like it. You just made his hand extremely easy to play, if he has you beat he calls, if not he folds. I guess he could still pay you off with lower pp,...

Re: Does a tiny baiting river bet ever work?

You'd have to be against a pretty aggressive opponent for this to work. I think much more often someone will look you up with a weak hand, hoping to catch you bluffing.

In situations like you...

Call his raise on the flop.

Check and fold to his reasonably sized bet on the turn.

Might as well save the $5 and fold to the flop raise, since you'll be folding the...

Re: Semi-Deep JJ Top Set

Given his range, figure out how to get his stack in after the flop. I'd say you managed the pot size well, maybe raise a little more on the flop. I would also consider betting more on the turn. He...

Re: TP+OESD 3-way, min bet into me and PFR

Raising in the first place would have been better. Fortunately you have a chance to rectify the situation, make about a pot-sized raise. Both opponents look weak so far, I imagine you'll take it...

Re: Thin Value Bet?: NL $400

I doubt you can make much here, I'd bet $60 again and hope to get someone to look you up with a pretty weak hand. If you do happen to get cr'ed (unlikely) I'd lay it down.

I love it when someone hits their flush draw in a big pot while my set gets turned into a boat.

Re: What would be correct (10/20 nl)

I think you're looking at this the wrong way. Folding loses $0, while calling the all-in with out correct pot odds costs money.
