Re: The Morongo

This could not be more true. The 2/4 is amazingly good, 3/6 a combo of amazing and weak-tight folders who duck under the table when you raise. A few dealers are truly terrible, but 75% of them are...

Re: Time vs Rake

[ QUOTE ]
My question then is this:

If you are playing 30 hands per hour, how many hands do you win? Is it 10%? 3 Hands per hour.

If all are max raked you are paying 12 bucks an hour to play...

Re: Straddle Inquiry

San Manuel allows it, out in San Bernardino. Dunno if you can re-straddle there, as I wasn't aware it was a possibility when I played there. They spread some 6/12, 9/18, and often a single 15/30...

Re: IS this were the 20/40 players go?

Yep, along with 15/30 hands that didn't get enough answers in mid-hi, and got noobs like me to reply in SS.

Here's hoping PokerBob posts 5 hands a week-- when he plays bad, I learn.

Re: Return on Investment Simulations

If you ignore postflop play, how does your sim mean anything? Their ROI is equal, assuming what? You always go to showdown? I don't get it. How are you assigning a value to a hand, while...

Re: Can i post my mathematical finance questions here??

I *really* hope you post some of these questions. I took graduate-level real analysis, game theory, and options courses, then quit the PhD math track I was on. I'm likely heading back to school in...

Re: Return on Investment Simulations

Two problems: First, determining return on a specific hand in a specific position is really quite thorny. There is room here for some difference of opinion, in addition to adjustments to starting...

Re: welcome to the rock.

If we assume his raising range is independent of table conditions (i.e. number of limpers doesn't matter), then estimating his "real" PFR% is easy, statistically speaking. Raise/Not Raise is a...

You still need to add a LOT more detail to your description or question, because it looks like you just agreed with the people who were trying to show you where you were wrong. If I understand your...

As to the idea of not using PT being crazy ... this would seem to imply that we are unable to make any money from sites that are not PT compatible. This is, of course, crazy. Bad...

Re: 1bb/ hour in loose games (LOW CONTENT)

When were loose online games *ever* 1BB/hr? That stat was from before online poker, used for B&M low-limit games, where there are about 30 hands dealt per hour. Just translating to PT stats would...

Re: playing more than 1 table +EV?

Rusty-- which is more important to you, BB/100 or BB/hr? Many 2+2ers play 3 or 4 tables, even though their BB/100 is lower than at 2 tables. If I make 3 BB/100 at 1 table and 2 BB/100 at 2 tables,...

Re: Realistic Win Rates at Pary 5/10 & 10/20

Sample size for an accurate win rate is discussed often on this board, and the answer isn't pleasant. Basically, the long run is so long that your skill and the skill of your opponents (game...

Re: Poker Tracker Stats converge

For binomial distributions (VPIP reduces to fold or not fold), std deviation is a function of the product of the percentage of times the two choices are made. Thus, the reply was correct-- 10% VPIP...

Re: definition of a live straddle?

in most places that allow a live straddle, the straddle does not count as a raise towards the cap, meaning a 4-bet house can then go 5 bets for a cap (6 in vegas, where I've seen it happen at 2/4).

Re: Rank low, mid, and high limits

A little more specific: 6/12 is low-limit, 8/16 mid.
20/40 definitely mid, 30/60 and 40/80 debatable, 50/100 high.
Forced to draw a line, 30/60 mid, 40/80 beginning of high, mostly due to rarity of...

Re: Low-Mid Limit at Pechanga

The 8/16 there is as loose as 4/8, but not as weak-tight. If the 8/16 is going, sit in it-- it's awfully loose pre-flop. All Pechanga games above 3/6 are full kill, so $800 swings in this game are...

Re: how many of you guys go to morongo?

I don't understand why Morongo can't get a 6/12 or bigger going on weekends, and barely gets a 4/8 on weekdays. Is *everyone* with any experience playing the NL cash game now?

In the 5-card O8...

Re: L.A. Card Rooms

Morongo is 18+, about 75 miles east on 10 fwy in Cabazon. You'll find plenty of 2-4, 3-6, and 1-2NL, and often a single 4-8 and single 2-5NL.

Re: Crushing live 2/4 tables

I'll leave the "have to tip" part alone, but Morongo rebates the rake for very small pots or no flop, and only takes $2 rake (plus jackpot dollar) at 2/4 unless the pot is bigger than $40 unraked. ...

Re: Crushing live 2/4 tables

Beating no fold'em games is important, because the play required to beat them is so simple. Until someone is totally comfortable with the decisions at 2/4 or 3/6, the marginal situations that...

Re: Craps puzzle

How about 4 on both? This makes the P(8) highest, while also decreasing p(7), since 4 is weighted higher while 3 is weighted lower on each die, so when one die hits 4, chance of 7 is reduced even...
