I would punch him in the face, actually. Thoughts?

Yup. A sock to the jaw is in order here.

Re: Two table private tourney

That sounds like a pretty reasonable play. I hadn't considered too closely at the table. My thinking at the time was that he would call 50% of the time and fold 50% of the time. Of the 50% that he...

Two table private tourney

Played in a private (home game) tournament last night and took third, but I've been thinking about the hand I went out on. I'm pretty sure that I had to make the move I did when I did, but maybe an...

Re: KTs misses 3-handed against unknowns.

I check behind on the Turn and bet the river, just like you did. The guy probably has jacks up with a weak kicker, or a busted diamond draw. The check on the Turn becomes even better when he's just...

Re: AK - I got A-high, let\'s raise the turn

Call, don't re-raise the re-raise on the flop and call, don't raise the turn. Fold the river.

BB probably has QQ, KK, or AA, with KK or AA being most likely.

Re: Why the hate over David Williams?

I love David Williams. He doubled-through the worst human being in the world: Josh Arieh.

Re: First Post

[ QUOTE ]
I figured this hand would come up. The check in the dark is basically a move that helps you pick up "tells" on your opponent, without comprimising position. Mainly I want to see how he...

Re: Candidate for a Slowplay?

You're costing yourself bets, not gaining them by slowplaying in this position. You played it right - ram and jam.

Re: Steaming at the Maniac, how to control???

I feel your pain. It's one thing to know and say that you want these people in your game because they make it extremely profitable, but it's another to be able to continue playing with that mindset...

it also depends on how many bets you are going to blow off when you hit your hand and lose.

Re: 52o in the BB. This felt like a real clusterhug.

Let's assume that your eight straight outs will make you the winner every time they hit. That gives you odds of 4.75:1. If it goes three bets on the Turn, your pot odds are 5:1, so this is still a...

Re: Paul Phillips, Legends of Poker

[ QUOTE ]
The thing about that play was that Paul hadn't put much money into the pot. He had $500k and both players had checked the flop and the turn.

Whether he made a deal or not, it was an...

I play this the same up to the turn, where I fold. UTG+1 doesn't have AK.

That was just a pre-flop possibility. It's obvious that's not what UTG+1...

Re: How to play TPTK as a total wuss...

I can't see you beating any hands at this point. I'd say at best, you're tied with AQ. The hands I would put UTG+1 on pre-flop are: AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK and maybe AQs. Re-raising an UTG raise usually...

Re: holding AKs... 63 left... 60 paid... what to do?

I too, think that all-in is the best move, but how good of a move it is depends largely on what you know of the player. If he or she is aware of Gap Theory, and uses it, then you are likely to hold a...

Re: \"What were you thinking playing that hand?\" Was I right or wrong here?

[ QUOTE ]
So was I right to call preflop here?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. You're out of position against the raiser and there isn't enough in the pot to justify the call, especially when you can't...

Re: I\'m such a fish. What\'s VP$IP?

Not the answer I was looking for, but good information all the same. (I have no idea what my VP$IP is, but it's probably about 15%).

Re: Should I have pushed this flop?

[ QUOTE ]
I push preflop...you have 9x, so the 3x is already PC'ing you and AK would like to see all 5 cards.
If I just raised 3x preflop, I'm pushing on any flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

Glad to see...
