Re: Correct River Decision?- PP 50/100

Call the river.

I don't much like the flop cap though. [If you think you have the best hand then wait to see what the turn brings and raise then. That's what position is for]. What do others...

as far as i'm concerned nobody has played NEARLY enough hands to determine their winrate. either you're winning or you're losing.

Re: How\'s This? Party 30/60.

Everything looks good except the river bet in hand 2.

Re: early 20/40 hand A9s vs TAG

Against 18/11 SIX HANDED you can probably fold this on the turn. Pretty easy fold on the river.

Re: $30-$60 Party Poker Hand

Another prime example of people betting the river when they shouldn't.

Why does nobody give UTG credit for a pair higher than 88 here? I don't see too many players -- LAGgy or not -- bet the turn...

Re: TT in the BB

This is a 3-bet preflop almost every time. Consider RAISING the flop. The gutshot outs alone make a call almost worth it, considering implied odds. Plus there's a decent chance you're actually in...

Re: I just had to value bet didn\'t I

You really think that it's sufficiently more likely that he has -- and will call with -- a pair below jacks or K high versus an A or KK-QQ, or a set? NOT A CHANCE. If he's going to call with those...

Re: I just had to value bet didn\'t I

I'm at a loss to understand what value you think you get out of betting this river.

Re: 100 200 preflop

IMHO your decision preflop depends far more on how each player plays postflop -- and by that I don't mean whether they play good or bad but HOW they play postflop -- than it does on how they play...

Re: I have to be ahead.....don\'t I?

If you know you have a LAG image, raising QJo UTG is just bad poker.

Not calling the river would be atrocious.

Re: 50K UPDATE

2.4 BB/100, 4 tabling, but only 20,000 hands. [Real work has been getting in the way].

I'm surprised, though, to read some of the top players say that this game is so tough that 1.5 BB/100 would...

Re: Easy River Value bet vs 54/33/1.4.... and Den?

This is an easy check. Not to be too harsh, but those advocating betting have a fundamental (and widely shared) misunderstanding of how to play the river.

Re: Not capping w/ JJ...dunno why but...

I smoothcall 3 bets with big pairs preflop HU at least as often as I cap them. Not only do I think it allows me to extract more value from the hand, but it has great meta-game advantages as well.

Re: Another very close one. Value bet it?

Check call and I don't think it's all that close, especially if there's any possibility whatsoever that he might bluff raise the river.

Re: A8s utg 40-80 blow by blow. did my play blow?

A slightly too aggessive player caps from the SB three way preflop after you limp re-raise. What part of this do you not get? TT is way at the southern end of the range of hands most non-maniacs...

Re: This call is bad, but how bad?

It depends on a whole bunch of different things, but I'm going to give it a 6.5.
